Paul Hart of Troy, TN topped a small but exciting field of Sprint Cars at the Malden Speedway Friday night. Other winners were Greg King picking up his fourth Modified feature win of the year, Tim Winchester won in Hobby Stock, Jeff Beeson topped the Street Stocks and Jim Eubanks won a disputed E-Mod race. Tim and Kenny Doublin won the $1,000 to win Cruiser feature to take the big check.

Paul Hart jumped out to the lead of Sprint feature race and led the rest of the way to take the checkered flag. Tim Montgomery, who made it quite a duel, quickly joined Hart. Jerrod Hull joined the leaders in lapped traffic on lap eight. Midway through the race Dylan DeJournett slid up the track in turn two and collected Hart to bring out a caution. Hart kept his lead position and had quite a fight on his hands the rest of the way. Montgomery would look low coming out of turn four but Hart had too much horsepower down the front straight to keep the lead. On lap13 Montgomery pulled along side Hart out of turn two and the pair raced side by side through turn four before Hart reestablished his lead. This cat and mouse game went on the rest of the way. Hull held on for third. Patrick Brums and Phillip Faulkner rounded out the top five. Faulkner and Hart won the heat races.

Tim Winchester picked up his first Hobby Stock win of the year as he won two tough three-way battles. Winchester jumped to the lead with Greg Sparks right in tow and Doug Moore lurking in third. On the fifth lap, Sparks dove low out of turn two and overtook Winchester down the back straight to grab the lead. Moore used the same move a lap later to move into second. Sparks and Moore both suffered mechanical problems on lap 10 and left the track.
Both would return but their chances at victory were gone. Winchester took over the lead, but the battle did not end. Jason Pennington and Lee Redden stepped up to be the challengers. That trio raced as a triangle under the white flag, with Winchester holding on for the win. Johnny Houart and Ronnie Tilley rounded out the top five. Winchester and Sparks won the heat races.

Jim Eubanks came around and just edged out Jeff Jarrell coming out of turn four on the final lap to take an apparent second place finish in the E-Mods.
Justin McBroom had dominated the field and led by half a lap at the finish to take the checkered flag. Once in the pits, Eubanks lodged a formal protest, requesting a tear down of McBroom's engine. McBroom refused to be torn down, and by doing so, forfeited the win, points and purse of first place to Eubanks, making that final lap pass a very important one. It was Eubank's third win of the season. Tim Prine, Todd Gibbs, and Tracy Redden made up the rest of the top five. Gibbs and Jarrell won the heat races.
