Pepsi Nationals & Springfield to be co-sanctioned with XDCS & UMP

Why are these two series working against each other that is not smart. Its good to know XCDS got rid of the tire rule now lm drivers dont have to buy a whole new set of tires just to run against them.

After lengthy discussions throughout the winter, U.M.P. partnered with WoO LMS in April to co-sanction both shows that would allow U.M.P. competitors to square off against the World of Outlaws’ “Dirty Dozen” on their home turf. Three weeks ago we received notice from WoO LMS’ officials that they changed their mind and will not honor our prior arrangement to use the WoO LMS’ body rules and U.M.P.’s LM tire rule.

Correct me if I'm wrong. If I read the above statement correctly, WoO was not going to co-sanction the program on September 18? Even if there was no merger between XDCS and UMP? And if that is the case, why do we just hear about that now? Haven't people been ordering reserved tix for the past month or so? Just curious. It will still be a very exciting race.

tell me why is it ok for the outlaws to runthe week before under UMP rules but not the following weekend

I have a feeling that perhaps that Boundless caught wind of the merger between UMP and Xtreme, and pulled out, perhaps trying a power play to keep Xtreme out of UMP.

However, I like the idea of the Xtreme sanction at I-55. Now that means we could get Mars, Birkhofer, Moran, Shaver, among other XDCS stars. Now that, personally, excites me.

i bet all the folks waiting to see the outlaws at pevely wish theyd gone to tcs now. im glad i went. now i get to see the best from the other series too.

For the last several years people have been posting that they wanted to see the XDCS at I-55, well here it is. No doubt the WoO late models would have been good too but most of the drivers that built the Pepsi Nationals are chasing UMP points and wanted it to be a UMP points race. After re-thinking the deal, WoO was not eager to co-sanction the event. I have no idea how the politics works on this one but regardless of who you think the donkeys and elephants are, the Pepsi Nationals will still be a good show.

Don't really care who's sanctioning it...I'll be there. The only reason I have a feeling one way or the other is because I would like to see Moyer but I'll also be happy with seeing Birky! No problem!

Any word on if it will still be just 40 laps or is XDCS going to require it to be 50?

Will the format be the same as always - UMP SummerNational format? What will be the payout? What is the starting payout for both races?

I was told the purse will be the typical XDCS purse format.

For I-55's event, that would be $10,000 to win, $6,000 for 2nd, $3,000 for 3rd on down the line to $700 to start...

It will be run using UMP Procedures....

Points will be awarded to XDCS & UMP on each of their point formats...

Co-sanction was probably a bad choice of words in the title of this post, but drivers will get XDCS & UMP Points..., but it will be run using UMP procedures and such...

Thanks, Jimmy. This information will help the drivers figure out what to do with their schedules now that things have changed.

Who knows about the taping as this is a late change to the schedule and the TV schedule was out months ago. Anything is possible, but you never know.

man i wanted to get the rest of my dirty dozen shirt signed......:( i guess i will have to wait untill the world! i think its goin to be a great show and i can't wait.
