Ponderosa and 201 Speedways Up Next for the O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar

LEXINGTON, KY--Rounds 3 and 4 of the 2004 O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series roll into two Kentucky tracks this upcoming weekend. On Friday Night, April 30 the series makes its first appearance of the year at the Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY. It will be the fifth ever appearance at the track for the BoB boys at the Jerry and Mary Denson promoted track with a complete show in store for the fans and drivers. Last year in four races it turned out to be the Johnny Wheeler show, with the Campbellsville, KY veteran taking three wins out of "The Pond" in BoB competition. The only other driver to win at Ponderosa last year in a BoB sanctioned event was 2003 O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass Series Champion, Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN. The night will start with Racing Optics Time Trials, followed by Heat Races, Consy Events and the Lucas Oil Main Event paying $3000 to win. Ponderosa Speedway is located just south of Danville, KY in Junction City, KY. The track is located west of US 127 at Shelby City to Junction City, then 1.1 miles south on State Road 37, then 0.4 mile east, then north. The track phone number is (859) 854-6808.



On Saturday Night, the series ventures east to the 201 Speedway which is located near Paintsville, KY at Sitka, KY. It will be the fourth ever visit to the Mike Vaughn promoted facility with a complete race program on the race card for the O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series. In the previous three visits to 201 there have been three different BoB event winners. The 2002 O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Champion, Eddie Carrier, Jr. of Salt Rock, WV, last years series champion, Mike Marlar and Aaron Hatton of Mt. Sterling KY have all graced victory circle at 201. The complete show for the BoB boys will see Racing Optics Time Trials, followed by Heat Races, Consy Events and the Lucas Oil A-Main paying $3000 to win. 201 Speedway is located 5.4 miles north of U.S. 23 on State Road 201 then go east to the track.
