Practice Day Nears Lincoln Speedway

Lincoln, Ill. (March 21) – B&H Promotions’ sophomore season is just under three weeks away as Lincoln Speedway will host its 2005 Practice Day on Sunday, April 10th. Open Practice Sessions will be held for all classes will take place from 2:00pm to 8:00pm in the form of simulated Hot Lap Sessions. Grandstand admission is Free, while pit passes are $15.

In recent news, Hoosier Tire has been signed as the official tire of Lincoln Speedway. Hoosier Tire Midwest will contribute to the 2005 Points Fund for the Outlaw Wingless Sprint Cars, Outlaw Late Models, UMP Modifieds, Street Stocks, and 600cc Outlaw Mini Sprints.

In conjunction with Bob Sargeant’s Track Enterprises, the annual UMP Summernationals Tour will make its first appearance at the ¼-mile Central Illinois oval on Friday, July 15th. The 40-lap feature will pay $10,000 to the winner. Don O’Neal of Martinsville, Ind. is the defending Summernationals champion.

Two Demolition Derbies will be on the card. Derby competitors will take to the Logan County Fairgrounds on Saturday, May 28th and Saturday, September 10th. During both 2005 Demolition Derbies, there will be a $50 to win “Prettiest Car and Driver” Award. The competition will be based on a fan vote during race night.

The B&H Promotions staff would also like to welcome Robert Edwards to the staff. The Mattoon, Ill. resident brings years of experience from the Southern Illinois bullrings to the Lincoln Officiating Team. Edwards will serve as Technical Inspector for Weekly Racing Series events and the Demolition Derbies.

Also on the schedule will be three special event dates, dubbed the Central Illinois Shootouts. Each event will feature a different class running in conjunction with another area track.
