Keith Pratt, Michael Long, Jeff Mueller and James Leffew all took feature event wins at Quincy Raceways on Sunday, May fourth during Mark Twain Casino Night at the Races.

Terry Gallaher jumped into the lead of the Budweiser IMCA Late Model thirty lap main event from his pole position and looked very strong in leading the first twenty laps but it was not going to be the veteran driver’s night as Keith Pratt slipped by to take the lead on the twenty first lap. Pratt then held off the furious charges of Justin Reed and Mark Burgtorf to take his first feature win of the season. Reed settled for second with Burgtorf third as the top three were within six tenths of a second of each other. Gallaher held on for fourth with Boone McLaughlin in fifth. Dustin Neese, Jason Frankel and Reed were the heat race winners with Lonnie Bailey claiming the win in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash.

Michael Long continued his dominance of the Miller Lite Modified division but he some competition in the feature event as Canadian Steve Arpin made several serious challenges to Long in the feature event. Long got the lead of the twenty five lap main event from his fourth row starting spot on the fourth circuit and pulled out to a comfortable lead until a caution flag brought the field together on the thirteenth lap. Arpin restarted fifth and pulled into second at the end of the lap. Arpin tried in vain to get past Long but was unable to do so after pulling along side on several occasions. Long held on for his fourth straight feature event by a little over a tenth of a second over Arpin in second. Dave Wietholder scored the third spot followed by Tony Dunker in fourth and Steven DeLonjay in fifth. Arpin, Long and Vance Wilson took the heat race wins over the thirty car field while Steven DeLonjay scored the win in the fifteen car B-Main event. Brandon Lennox took the checkered flag first in the Advance Trading Trophy Dash.

The Triple R Performance Engines IMCA Stock Car main event saw four different leaders as Levi Long held the top spot for the first five laps but a smoking engine brought his turn at the front of the field to an end as he started dropping back into the field. John Oliver Jr. scored the lead on the sixth lap but David Wietholder pulled into the top spot on lap seven and held it until falling off the pace on the seventeenth lap. Jeff Mueller then took over the lead and held off Oliver the rest of the way to the checkered flag on lap twenty five. Oliver settled for second followed by Chris Wibbell in third, Abe Huls in fourth and Steve Steinkuhler in fifth. Mueller and Chris Webb were the heat race winners.

The Tim’s Machine Shop Hobby Stock feature event was a wild one as the field had problems throughout the twenty lapper. Bobby Anders looked like he was going to be the man to beat by leading the first thirteen laps but a he lost the lead when he spun in turn two giving the lead over to Steve Carlin. Carlin fell out of the event on the next lap with mechanical ills giving the lead over to James Leffew. Leffew then held off Wes Mayfield by fourteen hundredths of a second at the checkered flag to take his first ever feature event win. Mayfield took the second spot with Corry Eifert in third, Steven Watkins in fourth and Jeremy Buss in fifth. Steve Carlin and Corrie Eifert were the heat race winners.
