Keith Pratt took home the biggest payday of his career on Sunday, June 28 during the Titan Wheel and Tire Late Model Topless Shootout at Quincy Raceways. Pratt led every lap of the fifty lap event but it sure was not without drama as Mark Burgtorf pulled even with Pratt on several laps during the closing circuits but Pratt held Burgtorf at bay to take the win by a little over three tenths of a second while Jason Frankel put the pressure on Burgtorf for the second spot.. Burgtorf settled for second at the checkered flag with Jason Frankel in third, Lonnie Bailey in fourth and Justin Reed in fifth. Billy Genenbacher, Lonnie Bailey and Justin Reed were the heat race winners with Burgtorf taking the win in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash which determined the first six starting spots for the 50 lap main event. Reed now holds an eight point advantage over Bailey in the points battle as the season approaches mid-season.

Justin Reed put on quite a show in capturing his second win of the season in the Miller Lite UMP Modified division. Reed battled with Donovan Lodge for the first twenty two laps of the twenty five lap main event but Lodge slipped high over turn two giving up his opportunity for the win on the twenty third lap. Vance Wilson inherited the second spot but was unable to chase down Reed in the final laps and had to settle for second, 1.7 seconds behind the leader. Steven DeLonjay grabbed third, Shawn Deering fourth and Jared Schlipman fifth. Deering, Wilson and Reed were the heat race winners while DeLonjay took home the win in the Advance Trading Trophy Dash. Reed now holds a seventeen point margin over DeLonjay in the points chase.

Terry Houston’s move from the modifieds to the Triple R Performance Engines IMCA Stock Cars is looking like a good move as Houston put on a dominating performance by taking his second feature win of the season. Houston held off Steve Steinkuhler in second, John Oliver in third, Chris Wibbell in fourth and Abe Huls in fifth. Steinkuhler and Houston both took heat race wins. Abe Huls leads the division in the point standings by eleven markers over Chris Wibbell .

Rookie Adam Scott looked to be well on his way to his first ever feature event win in the Tim’s Machine Shop Hobby Stock division as Scott led the first fourteen laps but it was just not going to happen as a furious battle was unfolding behind him. Jake Powers and James Leffew were putting on quite a show in the second spot trying to get past Scott but it was eighth row starter, Jim Powell who was coming through the field to challenge for the top spot. Powell made his move on the ninth lap to get past both Leffew and Powers then set sail in quest for the lead. Powers got by Scott on the fourteenth circuit and pulled away to take his fourth feature win of the season followed by Scott in second, Larry Powell in third, Powers in fourth and Mike Wiley in fifth. Jim Powell and Steve Carlin are now tied for the points lead with James Leffew fourteen points back in third.
