Pure Street DOT tires? Which are Best?

I recently went to a pure street class that runs "dot" street tires. I was wondering if someone with some expertise in this area could give me some pointers on which brand grips best, tire pressures (flat/moderate bank track), etc... I was wondering if a good snow tire of some sort would work. Feedback much appreciated.
 
when we were forced to run DOT tires we always ran Cooper Cobras lasted quite a while and gave decent grip the are priced pretty decent too.
 
Thanks for the info. Im not much for running Dot tires. For low cost classes street tires are as much or more as racing tires. I wish they would just let us run the dirt boss hoosiers but the track wont do it
