QUESTION: Should we charge an entry fee to be in the RAMS Points Series??

You know, after our last RAMS meeting, I got to thinking about what one of our members had to say about fees. The more I got to thinking about it I think I have to agree. But I wanted to see what you all thought.

QUESTION: For the 2004 RAMS Points Series (not for Fredericktown or MCS), should we charge something like a $50 entry fee for the series from EVERY REGISTERED VEHICLE with ALL THE MONEY going directly into the points fund???

Say we get $20 to sign up @ $50, that would give an additional $1,000 prize money at the end of the year.

well the one problem I see with that Millsey is if you charge a $50 fee to compete in the rams pionts series is..
1) if you don't pay will you get to race any way and get rams race money for that night???(even if your not worried about the points)

2) if you put the $50 in effect are you going to drop the rule of having to compete in half the races to recive a check at the end of the year(example guy make 4 out of 10 shows, car get totaled... he is not quilify for a check at the end of the year but he has paid his $50 dollars)

my sugestion is maybe up the fee for joining the rams to maybe $40(2005) then you get the money then and won't scare off some people with the $70 dollars to race...

why I say this one is look at the records for the last 2 years you have more members joining that wont get a check at the end of the year example we have 25 sign up last year but only 10 of them got checks

I know we need to get the pionts funds up this year but It's going to cost you $70 to join then you have 4 or more races in montgomery co. it will get to expensive for some to compete for a cheap starter class

remember we are a cheaper class to run than IMCA'S let not get too carried away I'm not bashing the ideal I just think it will turn away some of the other drivers that don't have the extra $$$ to spend they just want to race...

just my 2 cents

yeah i'm back

For an outsider lookin in this ministock deal is getting expensive, lets see. $20 to join, another $50 to race for the point series then add in another $100 for a parking spot at the Rock? I could be out $170 before I ever got behind the wheel. Low buck racing?

I think we should just leave it where it's at. Why mess with a good thing. There's classes out there that don't get that much if anything at the end of the year. With the way it is, last year 10th still paid over $100 I think. If we are worried about points fund money I suggest we start with getting RAMS Sponsors to pay up front so we don't have a problem like we had this year or something in writing.

But then this is just my opinion.

I would always have them put it into writing after all it is a legal agreement. I would put in the agreement what you are to do for them as well so they do not think of it as a scam. Just my .02

woe now guys

leave it how it is. maybe next year have the single membership 30.00 and a family membership 40.00 . sounds more reasonable to me. 2cents please!!!!!!!!!!
