MADISON, Ill. (July 16) – Missouri Department of Transportation construction
crews finished the first phase of a repaving project on the Poplar Street Bridge a week
ahead of schedule. And that means it’s smooth sailing for all fans headed from St. Louis
over to this weekend’s Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers Ram Tough 200.

“We are grateful for the fine work done by MO-DOT on the bridge, and the service it
does to our fans looking to get to this weekend’s Ram Tough 200,” Gateway Vice
President and General Manager Matt Strelo said. “We want to express our thanks to all
the professionals who made this happen.”

Fans are also reminded they can take the Martin Luther King Bridge from I-70, or the
newly-reopened Eads Bridge from Downtown St. Louis and Laclede’s Landing over to
the Illinois side and Gateway, which is conveniently located at the intersection of I-55/70
and Ill. Route 203 (Exit 4) in Madison, Ill.

There is also a convenient $5 roundtrip shuttle from the Emerson Park Metrolink Station
on Saturday. It will run every 15 minutes starting approximately 3 p.m. (an hour before
gates open) until one hour after the final on-track activity.

The Ram Tough 200 features the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series – led by drivers like
defending champion Terry Cook, Bobby Hamilton, Ted Musgrave, Mike Skinner and
rising stars like Brendan Gaughan, Jon Wood and Columbia, Mo., native Carl Edwards.
They will take the green flag at approximately 8:15 p.m. Saturday night for 160 laps of
close-quarter NASCAR-style action, followed by a giant fireworks display.

The NCTS drivers take to the Gateway oval Friday for practice and Bud Pole qualifying
at 4 p.m. Also featured Friday is the NASCAR International Truck and Engine Midwest
Series touring cars, which will cap the day with the Gateway 125 at approximately 8:30
p.m. on Friday night.

Tickets for this great event are still available by calling (866) 35-SPEED, or at the gate.
