Conley of Wheelersburg, OH captured his first ever series victory in the Grover Race Engines 40 and claimed the $3,000 payday in the process.

Conley’s first ever series victory made him the 51st different winner in series history. Conley would scored the win aboard his American Metal Supply Company/Conley Trucking/ Cornett Building Supply/Vinyl Craft Windows/Mortgage One Financial Group/Brown Services sponsored #71c Rocket Chassis, Draime Race Engines powered machine. The winner’s entry receives product support from Snap On Racing, Design 500, Bazell Race Fuels, AFCO Racing Products, Out-Pace Racing Products, Weld Racing, Ohlins, Hoosier Tire, Wrisco, All Star Performance, Mason Racin’, Delph Communications, Poske Performance Parts, Joe Gibbs Performance Driven Oil, and Team Impact Racing Decals.

Jackie Boggs of Grayson, KY would take second place honors in his Miller Brothers Coal/ Hawkeye Trucking sponsored Swartz Race Car, while Eddie Carrier, Jr. of Salt Rock, WV would finish third in his Engines, Inc./Grover Race Engines sponsored Rocket Chassis. Fourth place would go to Justin Rattliff of Campbellsville, KY in the Rattliff Motor Sales/ Campbellsville University sponsored C.J. Rayburn Race Car, while Josh McGuire of Grayson, KY would complete the top five in the final running order.

The remainder of the top ten would be Kenny Christy, Dustin Linville, Tyrel Todd, PPM Racing Products Hard Charger Tim Tungate (from 21st), and 22nd starting Eric Wells. The event would be slowed by five caution flags.

Jackie Boggs would take the lead at the drop of the green flag, with Eddie Carrier, Jr., R.J. Conley, Josh McGuire, and Justin Rattliff in pursuit. The front five would stay the same until the first caution waved for a spin by David Smith on lap 4. The restart would see McGuire go to third, with Audie Swartz going to fifth on lap 6, followed by caution for Joe Ramey. Conley would reclaim third on lap 7, with Justin Rattliff making his way into the top five on the same circuit by taking fourth. Conley would then begin to flex his muscles by taking the runner-up slot from Carrier, Jr. on lap 9, while Audie Swartz would slow and draw the next caution on lap 11.

The restart would see business pick up at the point as Conley would challenge Boggs for the race lead and secure the top position from Boggs on lap 12. Meanwhile, Mike Marlar was working his way up through the field and would scoot into the top five on lap 14. Conley would pull away a bit from the field as the race drew near its halfway point, only to have the caution wave on lap 19 for debris on the racing surface. Back underway, Conley, Boggs, Carrier, Jr., and Rattliff continued to hold the top four spots, while Kenny Christy would now ride in fifth. Christy would challenge Rattliff for fourth and take the spot on lap 24, with McGuire riding past Rattliff for fifth two trips later on lap 26. With Conley beginning to put things away out front, Rattliff would retake fifth from McGuire on lap 30.

The final ten laps would see Rattliff go back to fourth pass Christy on lap 33, as race leader Conley began to work slower traffic on lap 34. Conley would make a daring move in traffic on lap 37 and drive on to claim the $3,000 payday and his first ever series win. Boggs, Carrier, Jr., Rattliff, and McGuire would trail at the finish and round out the top five.

In preliminary action, Eddie Carrier, Jr. was the Racing Optics Top Qualifier among 29 entries with a lap of 14.760 seconds. Heat race checkered flags went to Carrier, Jr. in Wayne Bowen Racing Supply heat one, Jackie Boggs in K&N Performance Engineering heat two, Justin Rattliff in Graphic Impressions heat three, and R.J.
