(Macon, IL) As the Modified feature raced along with multiple cautions, the rain arrived and slowed the action to a stop. As the rain continued to dampen the track and the cars were unable to keep the track raceable, the decision was simple. The light and persistent shower began at 9:19pm and the track officials made the decision to end the show shortly before 9:45pm. Only four laps of the 20 were complete in the Modified A-Main before the rain forced the hand of the officials to call it.

The debut of the High School Hornets had nine cars show up but the feature was washed away as were the Pro and Amateur Hornets and the much-anticipated $500-to-win Street Stock feature.

Despite not having the Late Models in attendance, the car count still finished over 100 and the stands were full.

Decisions about the make-up of Saturday’s features will be announced as soon as possible on the web site, www.maconracing.com. The second Saturday of May will feature the Mother Dear program with the Crazy Chicks N Cars race as well as special prizes for the attending mothers. The Late Models will make return with the start Big Ten Late Model series for 2010.
