Two-time NASCAR Nationwide Series Champion Randy LaJoie is scheduled to attend the SuperClean Diamond Nationals May 9th and 10th. While in attendance, LaJoie will present a race car driver safety seminar on both days.

"I've traveled to tracks across the United States and it amazes me to see the complete disregard for safety," LaJoie said. "They have (seat) belts with a lot of slack in them, the seats aren't bolted properly. The materials used aren't always the best."

LaJoie has been on a safety campaign traveling around the country meeting fans, putting on safety seminars, and promoting his "Joie of Seating" custom fitted seats that are among the strongest and safest in racing.

"We are really excited to have Randy present his seminar at the Lucas Oil Speedway," said Kevin Greven, Track General Manager. "You may even see him try out his seat in person in our "A" Modified Specials running during the Diamond Nationals."

Even though LaJoie admits to having very little experience in a Dirt Modified, he jumped at the chance to go racing at the Diamond of Dirt Tracks.

politically correct lies

Randy LaJoie is a super race car driver and a nice person but one thing he never was is a NATIONWIDE series champ..He was a BUSH series champ. As a long time race fan it bugs me that to be politically correct the mediea will just report however it wants, whatever it wants so as to offend a sponsor. It really got to me when a talking head reported that Rusty Wallace was a former NEXTELL cup champ..This kind of media reporting is nonsense and is just as much baloney as the so called "OUTSIDE POLE"..That said,I do wish Lucis Oil Speedway a great season and Mr. LaJoie equally sucessfull racinf adventures...
