Ray clicked off the fourth quickest lap in Group B during the qualifying session, which locked him into the outside of the fourth row for the start of the 40-lap headliner. The Brasstown, North Carolina ace then picked off four competitors during the A-Main to notch a strong fourth place outing behind only victor Chris Madden, Randy Weaver, and Skip Arp.
