BONNE TERRE, Mo. -- (September 16, 2006) On a picture-perfect night for racing, Keith Ingram of Bonne Terre attempted to establish a new track record at Big River Sand Drags for both ET and MPH. Despite four valiet attempts, he was unable to accomplish his goal, but he did delight the good crowd on hand to watch the show.
Ingram's best effort was 3.592 seconds (ET) and 104.90 mph. Both well off the track records of 2.62 and 124 mph. However it was obvious those records may be in jeopardary in the near future over the 300-foot sand track.
In racing results, Denver Counts of Park Hills, filling in for Ronnie Maples Jr. of Farmington, captured both first place and top eliminator in the Vehicle ET class with Gladys Edwards of Bonne Terre taking second.
In Competition Eliminator, Tim Dee of Bismarck was the top eliminator and first place winner with James Casteel of Bismarck taking second.
In Super Pro ATV, Mark Dickens of Bloomsdale was the top eliminator and first place winner with Derrick Palazallo of Arnold second.
In Pro ATV, Jimmy Farris of Potosi was first with Eric McCoy of Potosi taking second and winning top eliminator.
In ATV-1, Reed Juengling of Columbia, Ill. was the first place winner with Allie Glatczak of Potosi taking second and top eliminator.
In Junior ATV, Thad Farris of Potosi was the top eliminator and first place winner with Jason Waller Jr. of Bonne Terre taking second.
Racing action continues this Saturday night (September 23) at BRSD. Gates open at 3 p.m. with time trials at 4, registration ends at 6 and racing at 7. For more information go to: www.bigriversanddrags.com
