Richmond and Bardstown Up Next for O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar

LEXINGTON, KY--After a weekend off the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series presented by Arizona Sport Shirts swings back into action with visits this coming weekend to two tracks that have been prominent on the schedule the first two years the series has ran.

On Friday Night, April 23 the Richmond Raceway in Richmond, KY will host a special Friday show for the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series. It will be the seventh visit to the Madison County dirt oval since 2002 as the O’Reilly BoB boys head into town for a $3000 to win main event. In the previous six visits to the "Action Track" there have been four different winners with Mike Hawley of Paint Lick, KY and defending O’Reilly BoB champion, Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN winning twice. Jesse James Lay of Walton, KY and Mike Jewell of Scottsburg, IN have been the other drivers who have graced victory lane at Richmond Raceway in O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass competition. The last visit to Richmond Raceway occurred last September and may have been one of the best finishes in the two year history of the series when Mike Jewell passed race leader, Mike Marlar at the flagstand for the win. Pit gates will open at 3 pm with spectator gates opening at 5 pm. Mandatory drivers meeting is scheduled for 6:15 pm, with time trials slated to begin at 7 pm. Grandstand admission will be $15, Pit admission $30. On Saturday Night, April 24 it will mark the eighth time the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series has visited the home of the "Dirt Track World Championship" the Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, KY this time for the 7th Annual "Spring Sizzler". In the previous seven visits dating back to 2002 there have been five different drivers take O’Reilly BoB wins at Bardstown with only Mike Jewell of Scottsburg, IN and Darrell Lanigan of Union, KY winning more than one main event. Others who have won in O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass held events at Bardstown include Rick Corbin of Independence, KY, 2002 O’Reilly BoB Champion, Eddie Carrier Jr of Salt Rock, WV and Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN. The 7th Annual "Spring Sizzler" featuring the O’Reilly BoB drivers will pay $3000 to win. In a special announcement the track will start one hour earlier than normal this Saturday Night, April 24. Pit Gates will open at 3 pm with spectator gates opening at 4 pm. There will be a drivers meeting at 5 pm followed by hot laps at 5:30 pm. Time trials are slated to begin at 6 pm with racing following at 7 pm.
