(YORK, PENNSYLVANIA) Rick Eckert and the Raye Vest Racing team will
conclude the inaugural World of Outlaws Late Model Series campaign this
weekend in the Magnolia State of Mississippi. Rick and the rest of the
“Dirty Dozen” members will be in attendance this Friday and Saturday night
at the Delta Bowl Speedway in Tunica, MS. A $5,000 to win WoO Series show
is scheduled for Friday with a $15,000 payday on the line for Saturday
evening. The crowning of the first World of Outlaws Late Model Series
Champion will occur after the Saturday event on the 1/3-mile, high-banked
gumbo oval. For more information on the final two events of the WoO circuit
this season, log onto www.woolms.com and www.deltabowl.com.

Rick comes into this weekend third in the latest version of the WoO point
standings and sits only 46 points behind leader Scott Bloomquist. He has
amassed five victories, 16 Top Five finishes, and 34 Top Ten efforts in the
39 WoO events thus far in 2004. The WoO series banquet will be held on
Sunday in Tunica, MS at the Sam’s Town Casino.

The driver of the Raye Vest / J&J Steel #24 Rocket / Cornett Ford Taurus was
in competition last weekend at the Alleghany County Speedway in Cumberland,
MD for the annual ‘Big Kahuna’ event. In preliminary action on Saturday,
Rick was the second fastest car in qualifying out of the 49 entrants and won
his heat race to earn a third place starting spot in the dash. The dash and
feature events for Sunday; however, were rained out after an excessive
amount of precipitation fell in the area on Saturday night. The event was
postponed until this Friday, October 29, but Rick will instead be in action
in Tunica, MS.

“It was a wet weekend for us,” stated Eckert while changing a motor at the
Raye Vest Racing shop. “We had a good car at Cumberland last weekend, it is
too bad we didn’t get a chance to run the show. Hopefully we can have
another strong car this weekend at Tunica in the World of Outlaw finale. It
will be hard to gain that many points on (Scott) Bloomquist and (Steve)
Francis, but we are going to try our hardest.”
