(YORK, PENNSYLVANIA) Rick Eckert scored a couple of strong finishes over
the weekend in World of Outlaws Late Model Series action. Rick captured his
heat race, finished third in the dash, and ran a solid forth in the 60-lap,
$10,000 to win feature on Friday night at the Eagle Raceway in Lincoln, NE.
The Raye Vest / J&J Steel #24 Rocket / Cornett Ford Taurus was racy all
night on the 1/3-mile oval in the Cornhusker State.

"Scrub" backed up his fourth place run at Eagle on Friday with a sixth place
outing the following night at the Farley Speedway in Farley, IA. Rick set
fast time for the 50-lap, $10,000 event and was running fourth on the third
lap of the main event, when a hole in the oil cooler sent Rick to the pit
area. With the help of several other crews, Rick returned back to the track
and salvaged a sixth place run. Rick is currently fourth in the current
World of Outlaws Late Model point standings.

"First of all, I really have to thank all of the guys in the pits that
helped fix my oil cooler in time to get me back on the track," said Rick
today. "I don't remember everyone who helped out, but I know (Tim)
McCreadie's and (Dale) McDowell's crews were there helping and probably a
few others. Then we got back on the track and we were really fast and got
all the way back up to sixth. At Eagle on Friday, we were pretty good all
night and stayed up front, but we just didn't have anything for (Steve)
Francis."

The Raye Vest Racing team and driver Rick Eckert will bring the familiar #24
to the Sooner State this weekend for the $20,000 to win 'Late Model
