– Ricky Weiss put an exclamation point on the 2017 season by racing his Derrick’s Sandblasting #7w Bloomquist Race Car/ Vic Hill Racing Engine Late Model to the feature win in his final event of the year.

The win was his 15[sup]th[/sup] of 2017 and came at Viking Speedway during the annual Viking Fall Classic.

“The past two months have just been awesome for our team, and I wish I could go back and start this year over,” Weiss said. “We’ve had all of the pieces in place this season, but it just took until the second half for everything to start clicking. My team has worked their tails off, and I can’t thank them enough for all they do. I can’t wait for the 2018 season to start!”

Powering the Derrick’s Sandblasting #7 Super Late Model, Ricky Weiss traveled to Viking Speedway (Alexandria, Minnesota) on Friday for the opening round of the two-day Viking Fall Classic. Drawing 30 cars for the WISSOTA sanctioned weekend, Ricky locked his spot into the opening night feature with a heat race victory. Battling with Don Shaw for the lead, Weiss came up short at the line to finish in the runner-up spot behind Shaw with Pat Doar, John Kaanta, and Lance Matthees rounding out the Top 5.

Returning on Saturday for another $3,000-to-win A-Main, Weiss landed a third-place finish in his heat race, positioning him eighth on the starting grid for the feature. Overtaking Pat Doar in the closing laps, Ricky Weiss streaked to his 15[sup]th[/sup] win of the season over Jeff Wildung, Don Shaw, Pat Doar, and Lance Matthees.
