Robbie Bryant Tops Lebanon Midway Factory Special/Tech Decided Enduro Winner

Lebanon,Mo.-It was a packed house Sat Night at the Lebanon Midway Speedway as the Speedway held its first Enduro Special paying 2000 to the winner of the 100 lap event and also held special paying races for the Modifieds,factorystocks and Winged Sprint Cars.

The Sprints rolled out first for the feature event with 2 time winner Clint Todd and brother Eric on the front row.As the green dropped,Eric jumped to the early lead with Clint and Joe Todd in hot pursuit.Back in the pack,JP Compton was making some moves coming through along with Scott Wedelstadt,Micheal Brown and John Rowland.With some strong side by side racing,Eric pulled out to a 4 car length lead over Joe Todd with Clint sliding backwards in the pack.

The Caution waved on lap 10 as second place runner Joe Collected against the Frontstretch wall ending his night.On the restart,Eric held the top spot with Compton charging hard.Clint Todd had dropped back as far as fifth and began his charge back to the front with Wedelstadt and Rowland along with Brown battling for posistion.On lap 13,the yellow waved for single car spins as Compton and Clint Todd were now on Eric's back bumper.On the restart,Clint pulled along side of Compton and the battle was sidebyside as Eric pulled away with Wedelstadt gaining on Compton and Todd.Coming for the Checkered it was all Eric grabbing his first win followed closely by Compton,Clint Todd,Scott Wedelstadt, and Micheal Brown.

The FactoryStocks feature went down to the wire as Steve Price brought the field down to the green along with Bill Schoen.Price grabbed the early lead as Tim Brown and Randy Berry were coming fast along with Robbie Bryant.With Price holding to to the top spot,Berry and Brown were battling side-by-side as the middle pack and back pack were swapping spots just as fast.Heading for lap 12,Brown and Price made contact as both drivers gathered it back as Berry powered to the low side making it a 3 wide battle.Going into turn 2, Brown went upstairs,Price gathered it in as Berry was looking for running room,then 4th place runner Robbie Bryant shot around all three grabbing the lead down the backstretch as leader Price fell back to 4th place.Staying Green the rest of the way,Bryant would hold on to grab the special event with Brown,Berry,early leader Price, and Eddie Brown gathering the top 5 as Travis Hill was able to walk away from a hard crash while battling for position back in the pack along the frontstretchwall racing for the checkered.16 of the 17 starters competed on the lead lap.

The modified feature would see JD Kelley jump from the front row starting spot as Dusty Johnston right on his bumper with Jamie Ragland holding to third.Back in the pack,Kevin Halderman was making a great charge through the pack and battling Don Luna for 4th place.Johnston would close-up on leader Kelley,but JD showed his strong side pulling away on the turns.Ragland and Johnston then began there battle for runner-up spots as Halderman pulled along side of Luna for 4th.With Kelley pulling away,Ragland made a strong move in turn 1 grabbing second place as Halderman and Luna continued there battle for 4th place.As the checkered waved it was Kelley grabbing his 4th win of the season followed closely by Ragland,Johnston,Halderman and Luna.

The Enduro feature saw 13 rows of 3 wide take the green battling in turn one.The lead would see Josh Franklin,Dave Williams,David Bates,Larry Rifenburg,Tim Brown battling up front along with Tony Jackson Jr. Franklin would suffer a flat tire early and quickly changed it to resume logging laps.David Bates took his station-wagon into the lead as Dave Williams began his charge to reel in the leader.Area resident Quintin Day who started 34th and Darren Woody who started 30th were establishing themselves in the middle stages of the race.Around lap 30,Williams made a power move and grabbed the lead.With attrition taking a small move on the field,Day and Woody were coming fast in the pack holding on to the lead lap and Franklin was gaining ground in the standings also as Steve Shaw and John Anthony along with Jerry Schwietzer who started 33rd and 37th were moving in the standings.The features only red flag waved around lap 46 as an axle and wheel had come onto the track.All racers stopped quickly and after the debris was cleaned-up racing resumed with a standing still green flag and action was underway again.Around lap 80,Quintin Day lost his motor and taking him out of the action as Dave Williams had lapped all but David Bates as Darren Woody was logging laps and now into third place as Tony Jackson Jr,who had a rough start in traffic was making his presence known staying out there logging laps.Early leader Tim Brown who had problems early was making some strong moves around and trying to gather as much as possible while Josh Franklin had established himself as perhaps the fastest car on the track along with Steve Shaw.Around lap 92,Jerry Schwietzers night ended as the Enduro veterans night was over.As the white came out-Dave Williams had put David Bates a lap down as now about 16 of the original 39 starters were still running.With the checkered in hand,Williams crossed the line in first followed by Bates,Darren Woody,Tony Jackson Jr.,Josh franklin,Tim Brown,steve Shaw,John Anthony,Jerry Schwietzer,Ricky Riggs(started 38th)and Jason Bybee(30th starter).The top 5 were taken to tech with 2000 on the line.After inspection and tech,Williams,Bates,and Woody were disqualified moving cars up in the standing and also being taken to tech.1 hour later the top 4 were final with Jackson Jr.being declared the winner followed by Franklin,Brown,and Shaw.The final payoff went 2000 to the winner with 750 to second,500 to third and 250 to fourth place.

The Speedway will host another Enduro on Friday Night Sept 24 along with a special paying event for Winged SprintCars,Mini-Stocks and Bombers.A 5th class is being looked at to compete.The regular race program will be underway on Friday Night Sept.17th with Modifieds, SuperStocks, FactoryStocks, Bombers and Mini-stocks with gates opening at 5 and Racing at 8.The Speedway will also host a truck pull on Sat Night October 9th.
