Happy, Texas (07/08/14) – The Fourth of July weekend found Rodney Sanders entering a pair of events in Wisconsin and Minnesota in his #20 Swan Energy/MB Customs/Geddes Racing Engine Open Wheel Modified, and he came away with his seventeenth win of 2014 to show for his efforts.

On Friday night the 6th Annual River City Rumble was held at Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wisconsin) as a $3,000 winner's purse was posted for the USRA Open Wheel Modified division. With thirty-two entries in the pits Sanders finished second in his heat race, which positioned him starting fourth on the grid in the finale. In the feature Sanders cleaned the slate with a dominant run to the checkers, netting a total of $3,250 for his efforts. He was followed across the finish line by Bob Timm, Brad Waits, Lucas Schott, and Eric Pember rounding out the top five finishers. Full results from the program are available at www.MississippiThunder.com .

The team made the trek to Viking Speedway (Alexandria, Minnesota) on Saturday evening for the opening round of the 10th Annual Minnesota Modified Nationals. Rodney started ninth in his preliminary heat race and charged to a second place finish. Unfortunately terminal issues would render him unable to compete in Friday night's qualifying feature, and send him to a b-main on Saturday night.

Sanders rented a power plant for Saturday's b-main where he would roll off from the second row. Rodney was running third in the b-main with high hopes of locking into the $10,001-to-win finale when a mechanical failure brought his night to an early end. Full results from the event are available at www.FYEMotorsports.com .
"Friday was a really fun night, and my team provided me with a great car," said Sanders. "At Viking it just seemed like anything that could go wrong did, but hey that's all part of it."

The upcoming weekend will see Sanders entering a single event as he plans to pull double duty at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minnesota) during the 35th Annual NAPA Auto Parts Gopher 50 on Saturday night. He will be competing in both the World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Model and USRA Modified divisions in his #20 Swan Energy entries.
