After Back to Back Oakshade Raceway DLM Track Championships, in 05 and 06, confidence was high, and the accolades were many! 2006 would also net the 21 year old "Throttle Stomper" an ALMS Series Championship, an UMP East Region Championship, an UMP State of Ohio Championship, and a Fantastic Third place finish in the UMP DIRTcar National Late Model points standings! He also became the first man in the History of Oakshade Raceway, to win Two Track Championships in the same season, winning both the Late Model and Sportsman divisions!

In a short, three year span, ( 04, 05, 06 ) the "young and talented" Rusty Schlenk won 26 times, in Four States, and Twice in Canada! That brings his career total to 37 wins! That amount of success lead to the decision to step up the whole Rusty Schlenk Racing program, and commit to running the Northern Allstar Late Model Series, and the grueling UMP Summer Nationals Series, inpersuit of their First UMP National Championship. Early 2007 looked like TEAM RSR was poised to do what they intended to do! Win as often as possible, and be a consistant top 5 finisher, and gain valuable UMP points. During the first quarter of the 07 season, the young" wheelman" was leading in SIX different catagories at the same time! The UMP National Points, NALMS points, ALMS Series, UMP State of Illinois points, Oakshade Raceway Track points, and Butler Motor Speedway Track points, helped further establish him as one of the hottest young drivers in the DLM division! Two wins, a second to Wes Stiedinger at Kankakee, consistant top 5 qualifying efforts, and a string of top 5 finishes made that possible! But luck wouldn't be on their side, as a string of unfortunite racing incidents and mechanical failures, to numorous to list, kept the Hard Charging "Phenom" from competing at an expected high level, and force the team back to their Jackson, Michigan base to regroup! And that's exactly what they did! 2007, while substandard by comparison, still brought Three Feature Wins, including the $5000 to win, "Canadian Late Model Shootout", at South Buxton Raceway, in Merlin, Ontario, Canada, to end the season!. The "Jaskson Asassin" also picked up Two, super tough Sportsman wins, as well as several nice finishes behind the wheel of the Team BDR Rayburn, provided by Swanton, Ohio's talented DLM Up and Comer, Dusty Moore and team owner Roger Markey.

As the 2008 Season approaches quickly, Rusty Schlenk Racing is busy finishing a pair of 06 CJ Rayburn Race Cars, aquiring current Sponsorships, and persuing a bunch of new potentail partners. In the next several weeks, TEAM RSR will be making several pertinent announcements pertaining to these new ventures, and additional information will be released, as the negotiations are finalized! A small, but greatly appreciated, group of local Businesses and Personal Sponsorships, will once again adorn the sides, and hood, of the potent Rayburn Race Cars! A New Color Scheme will be unveiled, and a few New Surprises will be announced, in the coming weeks! www.rustyschlenk.com will be updated in the next few weeks! A totally redesigned and user friendly format will be displayed, along with the latest news and information regaurding Rusty Schlenk Racing! A Tentative Schedule is still being worked out, but early 08 Objectives are to once again capture The Oakshade Raceway Track Championship, and run a mix of various regional Series races, that best help in gather critical, and valuable UMP National Championship points.
