Ryan Newman wins IROC race at Daytona

Newman cheated to win, but he's the winner.. He went down below the yellow line to pass Kurt Busch for the win. Matt Kenseth finished third... Wild, wild race.. Including Steve Kinser spinning out Jimmy Johnson at the finish line, and Johnson didn't hit a car...! Good driving by all..

IROC is not nascar, so does the yellow line rule matter? i dont know if they use that rule or not.

They were told to think of the yellow line as a concrete wall. Castro Nevies was penalized just 10 laps earlier and sent to the back of the pack...

Busch ran Newman down below the yellow line, there is defintely a lot of gray area associtated with this rule. Just hope he can repeat on Sunday.

Millsey.....you throw the word "cheated" out there pretty easily, maybe not the best choice in this application. If the powers of authority reviewed it, Kurt Busch agreed with it........ why would you suggest someone cheated. Castroneves got a run down the backstraight and pulled out below line to pass. Newman had a run and got up to wheelwell of Busch before he was forced below yellow line.......big difference. He could have held his ground and watched Busch and the rest of the field get destroyed. It would appear that you might not favor Ryan Newman.....sorry about that because you'll probably have to witness alot more wins from him.

The super speedways have not been Newmans best racing if he makes it through Daytona it will be just that much better of a start but either way watch out for your 1st nextel champ anyboby says that man aint champ material is lieing to themselves

Good call by IROC. But, I don't think NASCAR makes the same
call.

They just mentioned that NASCAR's new rule is...if you block someone down under the yellow line....the blocker will be black-flagged. This rule was put into place this morning in the rule meeting and will be effective for the 500.

I FEEL BUSCH GAVE NEWMAN NO CHOICE.
