The final stop on the four-day tour will be on Sunday night with a 50-lap $2,500-to-win race at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS.

The Salute To America Nationals will be highlighted by a tight battle for the $20,000 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Championship with just ten points separating a veteran Hall of Fame driver and a young driver looking to make a name for himself on the national stage of dirt late model racing.

Add to that, a host of local NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series title contenders taking time off from battling for their own $10,000 National Championship to battle the series regulars that will make the action on the race track hotter than a Fourth of July Firecracker.

The defending NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Champion Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN holds a ten point lead in the point standings in his quest for a second straight NeSmith Cup and the $20,000 that comes with it. Right behind the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Inductee in the point standings is 20-year-old Mack McCarter of Gatlinburg, TN.

In first 11 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series races on the 2014 schedule, Johnson has accumulated 902 points after three wins, six top five finishes, eight top ten finishes, and one fast time award. McCarter has kept pace with Johnson in 11 races with 892 points after seven top five finishes and nine top ten finishes.

Walker Arthur of Forest, VA is third in the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series points chase with 838 points and will be looking to get back into the title hunt in the Salute To America Nationals. Chris Noah of Rainbow City, AL is fourth in the point standings and is also the Rookie of the Year point leader.
