Big Ten Super Late Models Set For Macon Speedway Saturday
Kid's Castle Night Also Features Fun Activities For Kids

The Midwest Big Ten Super Late Models are set for their final appearance of the season at Macon Speedway, this coming Saturday, August 27. The division, a fan favorite at the track, will be joined by six other divisions plus fun activities for kids, making it an action packed night.

Coming into the race, Brian Diveley is the current point leader in the Midwest Big Ten Series Super Late Model standings. Diveley, last year's champion, has yet to win a race on the tour but has had consistent finishes which gives him a 38 point lead over Greg Kimmons. Chuck Mitchell, McKay Wenger, and Bo Brockway complete the top five in series points. Seven events have been run so far this season. Saturday's race will pay $1,500 to win and $150 to start. A $100 bonus to the top Pro Late Model finisher will also be on the line and the Pros have had some pretty good runs against the Supers at Macon this year.

When it comes to open wheel cars, Taylorville, IL driver Curt Rhodes leads the Billingsley Towing Modified division by a healthy margin over Rodney Standerfer, who was last year's champion. Jeff Graham, Zach Rhodes, and Alan Crowder complete the top five in points. In B-Mod action, Mt. Olive, IL driver Tim Hancock will be on hand looking to keep his unbeaten streak alive. Meanwhile, the bounty is still alive and now at $200 for the driver who can get the win, with Hancock still on track. Champaign, IL driver Patrick Bruns sits atop the POWRi/Illini Lucas Oil D-II Midget standings, as they'll be making another Macon appearance, in addition to the only visit of the year from the KidModz.

When it comes to the other stock car divisions, Decatur, IL driver Nick Justice has had a banner season and leads the Street Stock points by 80 over Kyle Waters. Brian Dasenbrock, Luke Force, and Terry Reed complete the top five. Rounding out Saturday's classes is the front wheel drive Hornets. Tony Reed sits first but by only 32 over Jerad Matherly. The two Macon County drivers are followed by Cook Crawford, Ryan Cantrell, and Torry Lyons.

Saturday night will feature CEFCU Kid's Club which will have fun activities for kids located near the pavilion. It is also Scout night at the track, where all scouts and parents will be admitted free in uniform and a pinewood derby will be held in the pavilion at 4:00, with trophies going to the top four.

Pit gates will open at 4:00, grandstands at 5:00, drivers meeting at 5:45, competitor pill draw ends at 5:50, hotlaps at 6:00, and racing will take the green at 7:00. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults and free for kids 11 & under.
