The St. Louis Region, Sports Car Club of America, is hosting a one-day class on how to work at a motorsports competition at Gateway Motorsports Park. This school is for anyone, 16 years old or older, who is interested in working at Race, RallyCross, PDX, Track Days, or Autocross events, and is FREE to attend.

This class is for experienced 'corner', or other race workers who just want some practice using fire extinguishers or rescue procedures etc.; as well as those who have never worked at a motorsports competition event and want to learn the basics of being a worker.

This event is open to ANYONE regardless of whether they belong to the SCCA or not, and is FREE to attend. If you support the 100 Acre Woods RallyCross, Solo (Autocross) Events, PCA or BMW Club Events, Local Drag Racing at Gateway, or even at local cirlce/dirt tracks - you are welcome to attend this FREE class. If you pre-register by Noon on February 28th. we will even provide FREE lunch for you as well. If you decide the day of the event to attend, please be prepared and bring your own lunch.

4:00 - Class Finishes

What You Will Learn:
8:30-9:30 Class for Corner Workers: Basics of being a road course corner worker at the track; flags, hand signals, basic equipment, how to be safe on the corner, and radio procedures.

Crash-Fire-Rescue Classes: Basics of what is an emergency, responding to vehicle incidents, assessing driver condition and assisting fire-rescue staff, and use of both dry chemical and water extinguishers to fight vehicle fires.

Classroom sessions and registration will be held in the Road Course/Oval infield at the "Meeting Room" at the South end of the garages.

Class is open to anyone 18 years or older, or 16+ years old with a signed SCCA Minor Waiver (Parents) at the event. You should dress suitably for the weather, bring a set of work gloves and be prepared to get slightly dirty. IF YOU PRE-REGISTER - SCCA will also provide lunch. Water will be provided throughout the day.

If you have already used Motorsportreg before you know the drill. If not, it is easy to sign up, and don't worry about any "tickets or costs" as it is the same procedure for other events even though it this one is FREE; just click through the process. If you prefer not to, or have any problem, just let us know and we will get you registered through the backdoor.

The 2014 Season is about to begin so be ready with information and training, which - BTW - may be useful at incidents not at the track as well.!
