(BRIGHT, INDIANA) "The Silver Shark" Scott James will jump back into his Powell Motorsports / Baylor Trucking #83 Rocket / Dargie Grand Prix this coming weekend in a pair of O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Series events. The action this weekend kicks off tomorrow night with a $3,000 to win show at the Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY. Florence Speedway in Union, KY will host the $5,000 to win 'Ralph Latham Memorial' on Saturday night. Scott is the defending champion of the 'Ralph Latham Memorial'. Scott is coming off an up-and-down weekend at the Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN last weekend. Scott was the class of the field, as he won by a straightaway in the $4,000 to win 'Kenny Simpson Memorial' feature event. It was going to be Scott's second 'Kenny Simpson Memorial' title, but the tech officials deemed Scott's left side deck height was too high. Scott's first victory of the season was taken away and he was credited with a nineteenth place finish.

"We definitely had them covered at Brownstown last Saturday," said Scott this week. "Our new Rocket car was absolutely awesome and it has been since we debuted it at Barren County a couple of weeks ago. We competed for the win at Bardstown and we won at Brownstown last weekend. The chassis support we are getting from Mark Richards at Rocket Chassis, as well as all of the Rocket drivers, is really making a difference."

"Everybody who was there knows who won and I am still counting it as our first win of the season, we just didn't get the trophy and the check," said "The Silver Shark." "After hot laps, the tech officials said that our right rear deck was too high. We fixed that, qualified and ran the heat race and crossed the scales each time with no problems. Then after the feature, they said our left rear deck was too high. Whether you agree with the ruling or not, the rulebook on the Brownstown Speedway website doesn't even mention anything about a deck height rule."

"In addition, the tech men never settled our car down like they did (John) Gill's to get him legal," stated James. "I was right there when they measured Gill's car and it was the same height as ours. It isn't Gill's fault or the Simpson family's fault as to what happened last weekend. There are just so many variables that can affect rear deck height. Anything from the fuel burn-off to the rise in air pressures can affect the height of the car. I want to thank all of my sponsors and especially Ron Powell, Bob Baylor, Jeff Franks, and Dave Welsh for supporting my race team the way they do. It is over and done with and time to move on."
