(Bright, IN) Another pair of Battle of the Bluegrass-sanctioned events was on tap this past weekend for Scott James Motorsports, as they were scheduled to compete in a $3,000 to win event on Friday night and a $5,000 to win event on Saturday night at Thunder Ridge Raceway in Prestonsburg, KY. The latter of those events was postponed due to rain and will be made up on July 1st.

Since the event on Saturday was rained out, Friday night would be the only chance for “The Silver Shark” to increase his point lead in the Battle of the Bluegrass Series. Scott timed in seventh fast of the 40 entrants in his Baylor Trucking / Powell Motorsports #83 BRC Lazer G-2 Monte Carlo. He would go on to finish one spot out of a transfer position in his heat race, which sent him to one of the consolation events. Scott was able to capture the consy race and advance on to the feature where he would be able to move up to tenth place. With another Top Ten finish under his belt, Scott James Motorsports increased their lead to 145 points in the yearlong championship run.

Scott will try to add to his recent success, as they travel to the richest paying race in Dirt Late Model racing this year. The $100,000 to win Dream 100 will kick off this Friday night with qualifying at the world-famous Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH. Heat races, consolation action, and the 100-lap feature event are scheduled for Saturday night. “The Silver Shark” finished in the fifth place position after starting in the back in a tune-up event at Eldora over Memorial Day weekend, so you bet he will be looking for blood this weekend.
