(BRIGHT, INDIANA) Scott James and the Scott James Motorsports team will tackle the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio this weekend. The grand-daddy of all Dirt Late Model races takes place this Friday and Saturday at the 1/2-mile, high-banked dirt oval in west-central Ohio and Scott will be on hand to vie for the annual ‘World 100’ crown. Qualifying for the event will take place on Friday night, with heat races, the B-Main event, and the 100-lap, $38,000 to win ‘World 100’ set for Saturday evening. The latest news and information concerning this event, as well as live updates throughout the weekend, can be found at the official Eldora Speedway website located at www.eldoraspeedway.com.

The driver dubbed as “The Silver Shark” competed in three events over the Labor Day holiday weekend. Below is an overview of how the driver of the Powell Motorsports / Baylor Trucking #83 Rocket / Dargie Grand Prix fared last weekend.

Friday, September 2 – Twin Cities (IN) Raceway Park (World of Outlaws, $10,000 to win)
Scott finished third in his heat race to earn the eleventh place starting spot for the 50-lap ‘Indiana Labor Day Classic 50’. The Bright, Indiana native was trying to advance towards the front until overheating problems sent him pitside on lap thirty. Those overheating problems relegated him to a disappointing twentieth place finish.

Saturday, September 3 – 201 (KY) Speedway (Battle of the Bluegrass, $3,000 to win)
Scott won his heat race at 201 on Saturday and drew the number one pill to earn the pole position for the $3,000 to win feature event. He fell back to third early on in the event, but then started to make his way back towards the point. He had taken over the second spot and was running down the leader when his right rear tire went flat. Scott retired for the evening following the flat tire and finished in the twenty-first position.

Sunday, September 4 – Tazewell (TN) Speedway (Lucas Oil Series, $10,000 to win)
The Hoosier state hot shoe invaded the ultra-quick Tazewell Speedway on Sunday and finished third in his heat race to advance to the $10,000 to win feature event. Scot passed several cars in the feature event until attrition started taking a toll on all of the competitors. A couple of cars fell out and Scott found himself in the third position with only eight circuits remaining. However, a piece of mud through the belts off Scott’s #83 machine and forced him pitside with overheating problems. He wound up finishing eleventh in the final rundown.

“I am afraid to think what is going to happen the next time I get in a car,” laughed Scott earlier in the week. “Everything that could happen to us, has happened to us the last month or so. Our car was really fast at 201 on Saturday and I think we had a good chance of winning that race until the flat tire. Then at Tazewell, we had a fourth place car at best. But, there was a lot of attrition in that race and I probably would have run second after Earl (Pearson) fell out right after we did. We are going to bring out a different car for Eldora this weekend and it only has eleven races on it. We’ll see if a newer car will help us get over the hump and prevent some of these problems we have had lately.”

Scott currently sits fifth in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings after twenty-seven rounds of exciting racing action this year. He is also leading the Rookie of the Year point standings for the second year series. Scott has amassed one victory, five Top Five performances, and ten Top Ten finishes in the twenty-seven Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events held this season.
