Second Season brings Non-Wing Sprints to Lincoln Speedway

Lincoln, Ill. (Dec. 21) – After a successful inaugural season, B&H Promotions is proud to announce the addition of a bi-weekly Outlaw Wingless Sprint Car program and a bi-weekly Steel Block Late Model program for 2005. The ¼-mile dirt oval, located at the Logan County Fairgrounds, will feature each of the headlining classes on an alternating basis throughout the season. The two classes will come together for Special Events on the major holidays. The Outlaw Wingless Sprint Car and Steel Block Late Model divisions will feature “Outlaw” rules. Any motor combination will be allowed to compete with any tire. The only exception for the Steel Block Late Models is the requirement of a Steel Block.

A Practice Day will kick off the season on April 10th, with first points paying event to roll off a week later. Returning to weekly competition will be a full slate of UMP-sanctioned Modifieds, Street Stocks, and Wild Things. The 600cc Outlaw Mini Sprints will run on a limited basis this season along with the UMARA Sportsman Midgets, Sportsman / Limited Late Models, and possibly some Dwarf Car events. In addition to the regular Sunday program, the facility will also host two Demolition Derbies; one on May 28th and the other on September 10th. Also, three Saturday evening Motorcycle events have tentatively been scheduled.

A concrete schedule and final information will be released January 15th, coinciding with the Allen Automotive Trade Show in Peoria. Lincoln Speedway representatives will follow the Winter Trade Show swing to the Midwest Speed Expo in Springfield and tentatively the Bloomington Trade Show the following week. Lincoln Speedway will honor its inaugural champions on Saturday, February 12th at the American Legion Hall in Lincoln. The head tables will feature UMP Modified champ Brian Lynn of Riverton, Street Stock champ Jim Quinn of Farmer City, 600cc Outlaw Mini Sprint champ Christopher Massey of Clinton, and Wild Thing champ Bobby Eskew of Lake Fork
