Severe storm shortens racing program at Big River Sand Drags

BONNE TERRE, Mo. -- (May 10, 2003) A severe thunderstorm and a tornado warning cut the racing program short at Big River Sand Drags Saturday night shortly after the completion of the first round of racing. Because of the shortened program, no top eliminator races were ran other than the Junior ATV class.

In Competition Eliminator class, David Myers of Indiana was the winner with Jason Waller of Bonne Terre second.
In Vehicle ET, Philip Beaird of St. Louis was first with Beth Deterlie taking second.
In Open 4x4, Terry Wies of Wentzville was the winner with Dan Griffin finishing second.
In Off Road Modified, Todd Dee of Leadwood was first with James Womble second.
In Stock Buggy, Kevin Sellers of Arnold was first with Gary Hollinsworth second.
In Super Pro ATV, Garrett Thompson of Dearborn, Mo. was the winner with Robert Tuttle second.
In Pro ATV, Chad Pettus of Bonne Terre was first with Jimmy Farris of Potosi second.
In ATV-1, Nathan Glore was the winner with Eric McCoy taking second place.
In Junior ATV, Garth Farris of Potosi was the top eliminator and second place winner while Nick Butler finished in first place.
