Inside Line Promotions - JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (April 30, 2019) - Mother Nature wasn't favorable last weekend for Jason Sides and the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.

Sides had a three-race weekend scheduled, but only the first night on Friday at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., was completed. He qualified 14th quickest and placed fourth in a heat race to lock into the 14 th starting position for the main event.

"It started off halfway decent," he said. "I did what I thought we were supposed to do and ran around there on the cushion during qualifying. I had what I thought was a decent time. Someone in our group went to the bottom and picked up half a second. Then everyone went to the bottom. We went from being third or fourth quick to 14th quick. It wasn't very good.

"They tilled the track and I thought we were going to be pretty good for the A Main, but we were a little tight. Halfway through the race it blew off. I got in behind Brian Brown and he checked up. I spun myself around and went through the infield and came back out a lap down. Then we had a red flag. That helped where the tires cooled and I ended up passing four or five cars that we were racing with."

Sides rallied for a 17th-place run.

Saturday's show at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., rained out and an event on Sunday at Jacksonville Speedway didn't end much better. Sides qualified 17th quickest in his group and ended ninth in a heat race before rain washed out the action before the Last Chance Showdown took the green flag.

Sides will race close to home this Friday when the World of Outlaws invade Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark.

"It'd be fun if we do get it in," he said. "It's good to run close to home so the people who don't get to travel can see us."

The weekend concludes on Saturday at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind.
