Inside Line Promotions - LEBANON, Ore. (Sept. 6, 2018) - Jason Sides capped a busy week in the Northwest with his best result on Wednesday at Willamette Speedway.

Sides laid down his best qualifying effort of the night with a third-place run, which put him on the pole of a World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series heat race.

"We qualified really well," he said. "It got a little greasy around the bottom. On the start of my heat someone pushed me down further than I wanted to go. When we took off I got sideways. It's my fault. I let it happen. We went from sitting on the pole to running fourth by the end of the front straightaway."

Sides placed fourth in the heat, which lined him up 12th in the A Main.

"We were pretty decent early," he said. "We got up to ninth or so, but we got loose as the race went on. Toward the end I missed the bottom in turns three and four. Rico (Abreu) got by and on the last lap Brent Marks got under me. I couldn't hold the bottom any more. As the fuel burned off it got too free."

Sides held on for a 13th-place result.

It was the final night during a four-race swing through the Northwest, which began last Friday at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash., during the Outlaw Energy Showdown. Keoni Texeira was in a second entry for Sides Motorsports.

"He went out early on Friday and qualified pretty decent," he said. "He got a lot of laps throughout the weekend so that was good. We didn't have a very good weekend though. We were sidelined by a mechanical problem the first night."

Sides placed 18th on Saturday during the event finale. He then ventured to Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Wash., on Monday for a show that ended with a 17th-place finish.

The team now heads to California for the Gold Cup Race of Champions this Friday and Saturday at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif. California native Tim Kaeding will be in a second Sides Motorsports entry during the doubleheader.
