Speedway presents Third Annual Fall Shootout

LEBANON, Mo. - The Lebanon I-44 Speedway presents its first and only two-day show of the 2005 season. The Larry Phillips Memorial Third Annual Fall Shootout will be Friday, Sept. 23 and Saturday, Sept. 24.

Six classes will be racing at the Shootout, headlining with the MARS Late Models with a $10,000 to-win purse. Show-Me Late Models will also be rounding out Late Model action. Factory Stocks, Super Stocks, Modifieds and Bombers will also be racing for the Shootout purses.

The weekend will give out $80,000 in total winnings.

Fans are encouraged to come both days. Track promoter Randy Mooneyham said both days will feature MARS main features, with the top eight in the Friday night feature occupying the top eight spots in the Saturday night main feature.

"People will see some of the best racing all year this weekend," Mooneyham said. "I'm expecting 70 or 75 total Late Models to compete."

The Shootout race is also the last on the MARS and I-44 Speedway season schedules.

A free dinner catered by J's Family Dining of Lebanon will be available to fans that purchase a pit pass on Friday night.

Shootout purses are as follows: MARS Late Models, $10,000; Show-Me Late Models, $1,500; Modifieds, $1,500; Factory Stock, $800; Super Stock, $800; Bombers, $400.

Friday schedule and prices: All qualifying heats plus MARS Late Model qualifying feature. Grandstand adult admission will be $10 and pit passes will be $25.

Saturday schedule and prices: Qualifying MARS B Mains, all features and the 50-lap Late Model feature. Grandstand adult admission will be $20 and pit passes for Saturday night will be $30.

Tier parking each night will be $20. Juniors ages 13 to 15 will be $5 both nights, with children 12 and under free.

Gates will open both nights at 5 p.m. with racing slated to begin at 7:30 p.m.
