Spring Speed Event Saturday at CSP!

Lonnie Wheatley, PEORIA, Ariz. (April 7, 2014) – With the season opening event successfully in the books in front of a packed house, action continues at Canyon Speedway Park with this Saturday night’s Spring Speed Event atop the 1/3-mile clay oval.


Following an open practice on Wednesday night from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday’s Spring Speed Event features the IMCA Modifieds along with Challenge Cup Sprint Cars, Pure Stocks, Renegades and Dwarf Cars. Saturday’s action fires off at 7:00 p.m.


After topping four of six Winter Challenge events, Ricky Thornton, Jr., added another CSP score in the IMCA Modified ranks during Copper on Dirt action to take the early points lead ahead of defending track champion Jason Noll and Logan Drake.


Ty Weidner is out to the early lead in the Pure Stock ranks while the Challenge Cup Sprint Cars, Renegades and Dwarf Cars take to the track for the first time in 2014.


Jason Noll is the defending IMCA Modified winner of the Spring Speed Event while Josh Shipley topped the Challenge Cup Sprint Cars last year.


Tickets for Saturday’s CSP Spring Speed Event are just $15, with a $2 discount for Military, Seniors and Students. Children ages 7-12 are $6, with children 6 and under admitted free. VIP passes are available for $20.
