Stacker 2 M.a.r.s. Competitors Ready For Big Finale To 2005 Campaign

Locust Grove, AR (9/20/05). – The stars and cars of the Stacker 2 Mid America Racing Series (M.A.R.S.) will compete in the Larry Phillips Memorial Third Annual Fall Shootout this Friday and Saturday night, September 23rd-24th at I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, Missouri. This will mark the final events of the 2005 season for the tour.

Heading into the weekend’s events defending series’ champion, Terry Phillips, rests atop the point’s standings. Wendell Wallace, Jack Sullivan, Jeff Floyd, and Bill Frye currently round out the top five in the standings, and will all be taking one last shot at claiming the 2005 series’ crown. Other tour drivers expected for this weekend’s events include Justin Wells, Steve Rushin, Gary Stolba, Dane Dacus, Brandon McCormick, Jordan Jones, Dewaine Hottinger, Joey Mack, Brad Looney, Stacey Taylor, and many more.

On Friday, September 23rd, heat races and a feature will be held for the Stacker 2 M.A.R.S. competitors. The top eight finishers from the feature event will make up the first four rows for Saturday night’s main event. On Saturday night, three b-mains will be lined up from the passing points accumulated in Friday night’s heats. Four drivers will transfer from each b-main to the feature. The last two positions in the feature are reserved for provisionals.

The payout for Saturday night feature is as follows:

Six classes will be racing at the Shootout, headlining with the Stacker 2 M.A.R.S. Super Late Models featuring a $10,000 to-win purse. Show-Me Late Models will also be rounding out Late Model action. Factory Stocks, Super Stocks, Modifieds and Bombers will also be racing for the Shootout purses.

The total weekend payout for all divisions will top $80,000 in winnings.

A free dinner catered by J's Family Dining of Lebanon will be available to fans that purchase a pit pass on Friday night.

Shootout purses are as follows: MARS Late Models, $10,000; Show-Me Late Models, $1,500; Modifieds, $1,500; Factory Stock, $800; Super Stock, $800; Bombers, $400.

Friday schedule and prices: All qualifying heats plus MARS Late Model qualifying feature. Grandstand adult admission will be $10 and pit passes will be $25.

Saturday schedule and prices: Qualifying MARS B Mains, all features and the 50-lap Late Model feature. Grandstand adult admission will be $20 and pit passes for Saturday night will be $30.

Tier parking each night will be $20. Juniors ages 13 to 15 will be $5 both nights, with children 12 and under free. Gates will open both nights at 5 p.m. with racing slated to begin at 7:30 p.m.
