Belleville, IL (April 20, 2008) Michael Kloos led the UMP Late Model feature for the entire distance except for the final few feet in Sunday night's twenty-five lap main event. Rick Standridge had pressure Kloos for the lead every lap, but Kloos held a perfect line throughout the event as he held Standridge off, but with three laps remaining, the motor in Kloos' car began to go sour. Standridge took to the high side to attempt the pass on Kloos the last couple of laps, but Kloos was able to keep just enough momentum as his machine began to lose some of it's horsepower. Going into turn three and four on the final lap, Kloos was unable to keep his car on the bottom and he slid up to the middle of the track, losing more momentum and allowing Standridge to get a good run on the top side to edge past for the win. Griffaw used the low line and got under Kloos coming off turn four and nearly stole the win from the third position. Mike Hammerle finished a close fourth with Frankie Martin completing the top five.
