When the O’Reilly Auto Parts Winged Outlaw Warriors come to Lake Ozark Speedway, Jeff Stanley of Oak Grove, MO is probably as happy as any driver, as he has now won two of the three appearances at the track this season.
Starting on the pole by virtue of his heat race win, Stanley jumped immediately into the lead in the 20 lap feature. Early on, Stanley was being pressured by Jason Evans as the pair would run one-two for the first six laps.
On lap seven, Toby Brown was able to get by Evans for second and set his sights on Stanley.
About halfway through the race in heavy lapped traffic, Brown was able to pull up behind Stanley and began to stalk him for the lead.
On lap eleven, Brown was able to get by Stanley, but Stanley received a huge break when the yellow flag came out for a tangle between Ryan Marsch and Dustin Barks, who was running fourth at the time in turn one. JD Black also spun at this time. Marsch would be able to continue, while the other two drivers would not.
Going back to the last completed lap, Stanley would pace the field for the restart, followed by Brown and Evans. The field would get one more lap in the books before another yellow for a Tyler Thompson spin in between turns three and four. At this same time, Ryan Marsch would pull into the work area and then return to the race at the tail of the field.
With open track ahead of him, Stanley was able to stay in front followed by Brown and Evans.
On lap sixteen, Evans started to fade as Gabe Maycock was able to get by for third and then a short while later, Rusty Potter would pass Evans for fourth.
Stanley would go on to his second career WOW win in his own Maxim followed by Brown in the Terry Brown ABF Truck Rebuilders J&J. Maycock would finish a WOW career-best third in the Korte Transportation/Harman Construction Maxim followed by Potter in the Roy Cary Livestock/Potter Trucking Maxim. Randy Martin was able to make a late charge into the top five in his Diamond Pet Foods Maxim. Evans would hold onto sixth in the Rick Evans Land Grading Maxim. Mike Trent, the Weld Wheels Hard Charger, moved up seven spots to finish seventh in the Chuck Hines Maxim. Andy Korte had a good run holding onto eighth followed by Matt Fox and Matt Sutton.
The Winged Outlaw Warriors now get ready for a three day weekend of racing starting off at the Bolivar Raceway USA in Bolivar, MO next Friday, July 28th. They will then race at I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, MO next Saturday followed by the annual Clyde Wood Memorial at Double X Speedway in California, MO on Sunday July 30th.
