Inside Line Promotions - PUYALLUP, Wash. (May 1, 2019) - Rain has wiped out two of the first three rounds of the season at Knoxville Raceway for Trey Starks.

The Gobrecht Motorsports team had another dormant weekend after wet weather cancelled last Saturday's event at the half-mile oval.

"It's tough to get into a rhythm when you keep battling these rainouts," he said. "Right now it's important for us to get laps in at Knoxville. We need to keep learning and growing. Rain certainly isn't helping that process."

Starks is excited to return to action at the track after what the team learned during the lone contested race this season.

"I think we'll be in a lot better position going into the next race compared to the season opener," he said. "We struggled that night, but if we take what we learned and apply that we'll be much closer to where we need to be in order to race toward the front."

The only race on tap this weekend is at Knoxville Raceway this Saturday. The team will then venture to Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., for its season opener on May 10 before another event at Knoxville Raceway the following night.

"We're excited to turn a lot of laps at Jackson Motorplex this year as well as at Knoxville," Starks said. "That's another fun track. Hopefully the weather turns around in the Midwest soon and we can race consistently."
