This is a post directly from Bob Pierce Race Cars. I believe it's a great idea that UMP has began taking MSD boxes from drivers to send out and test for traction devices. As far as the rumors go about Bob Pierce selling or even advising anyone to run traction device is so wrong. Anyone that knows Bob would know just how fictitious this is. The biggest reason for Bob retiring from Late Model racing was because of the presence of such products and detesting everything about it. For a driver like Bob who has driven a race car over 30 years and fine tuned his foot to be his traction device, only to give the competitors this device to help eliminate their wheel spin was an outrage. We are absolutely against traction control and hope UMP continues their efforts in assuring it is not part of our racing. We hope this puts an end to any rumors floating around. Also, hope UMP continues their attempts and hope to see them take many more cars boxes in the future, especially some other chassis. (But they do need to start replacing them when they do take them, they have not done this despite what was said, they left these drivers with no MSD, and having to get one to race the following day.) However, flattered they've taken ours, only to prove that these drivers do not need the help of these devices and put an end to the accusations.
