Stormpay.com Weekly Racing Series Season To Kick Off This Weekend

CARTERSVILLE, GA – The second season of the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series opens this Friday, and will run through September 30. The number of StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series sanctioned tracks has grown to 21, and with that growth, the addition of a third Region for the 2007 season.

Drivers at these 21 tracks will have the opportunity to compete for points and point fund money at their local track, as well as, Regional points and point fund money against drivers from the other StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series tracks in their Region. A driver’s top 16 finishes during the season will count towards their Regional point total.

In addition to their top 16 finishes, drivers will also have an opportunity to earn bonus points at StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Touring events during the Weekly Racing Series season. When the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Tour competes in a Region, all drivers competing in that event will receive 10 Weekly Racing Series bonus points.

A total of 13 new weekly dirt tracks have signed on to the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series for the 2007 season. This growth is attributed to the economic balance, as well as the technical support and public relations support, the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series provides these tracks.

The cars in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Divisions are dirt late model race cars powered by the economical GM Performance Crate Racing Engine. They are built and sealed at the factory to prohibit any expensive modifications to the engine. The engines are shipped to GM dealers across the nation, and are readily available to racers at an economic price.

The 400-horsepower aluminum-head 604 engine sells for right at $5,000, and the 350-horsepower 602 engine sells for right at $3,000. The dirt late models powered by the 602 engine also receives a 150 pound weight break.

Last season, the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series paid out over $30,000 in cash awards, plus a new race car chassis for the West and East Region Champions Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS and Jason Wilson of Margaret, AL respectively.

For 2007, in addition to the cash awards for the top drivers in each region, the Regional Champions will again receive a new race car chassis, plus a new GM Performance 604 Crate Engine.

The top regional point drivers, and the top drivers from each StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series track will receive an invitation to the 2nd Annual StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Invitational Shootout at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS on November 23.

The StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region will consist of the Friday night track of Penton Raceway in Penton, AL, and the Saturday night tracks of Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, GA, Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, GA, and 411 Motor Speedway in Knoxville, TN.

Penton Raceway, North Georgia Speedway, Lavonia Speedway, and 411 Motor Speedway are new tracks in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series for 2007. StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series officials are anticipating adding one, possibly two more tracks to the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region in the coming days.

The StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region will consist of Friday night tracks Southern Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS and Simpson County Motorsports Park in Mendenhall, MS. The will be five race tracks in the West Region teaming up in two different market areas on Saturday nights.

Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS will be teaming up with the cross-town Magnolia Motor Speedway to run on alternate Saturday nights throughout the season. In Indiana, Twin Cities Raceway Park in North Vernon, IN, Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN, and Thunder Valley Speedway in Salem, IN will team up to run alternate Saturday nights in the West Region.

Other Saturday tracks in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region are Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS, and Swinging Bridge Raceway in Jackson, MS.

Simpson County Motorsports Park, Twin Cities Raceway Park, Brownstown Speedway, and Thunder Valley Speedway are new tracks to the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series for the 2007 season.

The newest region for the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series will be the Southern Region. Friday night tracks in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Southern Region will be Baton Rouge Raceway in Baton Rouge, LA and Blackman Motor Speedway in Blackman, FL.

On Saturday nights, Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS moves from the West Region to the Southern Region, and will be joined by Monticello Speedway in Monticello, AR, Deep South Speedway in Loxley, AL, and Butler County Motorsports Park in Greenville, AL.

Baton Rouge Raceway, Blackman Motor Speedway, Monticello Speedway, Deep South Speedway, and Butler County Motorsports Park are new tracks to the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series for the 2007 season.
