STORMPAY.COM WEEKLY RACING SERIES UNDERWAY WITH CHAPMAN, MANGUM, REYNOLDS AND FRITH AS REGIONAL POINT LEADERS

CLARKSVILLE, TN - The StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series for
Crate Late Models is underway with several tracks opening the season in two
regions. Herman Reynolds and Landon Frith are tied for the lead in the West
Region with 80 points, while Jonathan Chapman and Timbo Mangum are tied for
the East Region point lead with 50 points.

Seven of the 15 StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series tracks have held events
during the first two weeks of points competition with 75 drivers
participating. The remaining eight tracks will open during the next four
weeks.



In the West Region, Reynolds has posted two straight wins in the Crate Late
Model Division at Pike County Speedway in Magnolia, MS, and Frith has two
wins at Swinging Bridge Raceway in Jackson, MS. In the East Region last
Saturday night, Chapman was the winner at Talladega Short Track in
Eastaboga, AL, and Mangum took the win at I-77 Speedway in Chester, SC.



Following Reynolds and Frith in the West Region point standings are Talbert
Goldman from Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS and Doug Todd from Swinging
Bridge Raceway with 78 points. Goldman won at Columbus Speedway on April 8,
and started the season with a third-place effort on April 1. Todd has a
pair of second-place finishes at Swinging Bridge Raceway.



Mike Shirley from Columbus Speedway and Kevin Watts from Pike County
Speedway are tied for the fifth spot in the West Region with 77 points.
Andy Robinson from Columbus Speedway and Jarrette Gunn from Swinging Bridge
Raceway are tied for seventh in the West Region with 76 points. Robinson
was the winner at Columbus Speedway on April 1.



Rounding out the top ten in the West Region are Pike County Speedway drivers
Bryan Warner with 71 points, and Jeff Danos with 70 points. Tony Albright
only has one start, but that was a win on April 1 at StormPay.com Speedway
in Clarksville, TN. Albright got 40 points for the win and is 11th in the
West Division point standings.



In the East Region, Richard Ogle from Talladega Short Track and Jay Sessoms
from I-77 Speedway are tied for second with 48 points. Adam Martin from
Talladega Short Track and Mike Huey from I-77 Speedway are tied for the
fifth spot with 46 points. John Pierce from Talladega Short Track and
Ronnie Mosley from I-77 Speedway are tied for the seventh spot with 44
points.



Rounding out the top ten in the East Region are Blake Stewart from Talladega
Short Track and Chris Steele from I-77 Speedway with 42 points. Frankie
Beard won on April 7 at Modoc Speedway in Modoc, SC, and is 11th in the East
Region points. Beard is tied with Jason Wilson from Talladega Short Track,
and Marty Reid from I-77 Speedway.



The winners at tracks with over 12 cars receive 50 points with two points
separating each position back to 30 points, and winners at tracks with 12 or
less cars earn 40 points with one point separating each position on back to
30 points. The top 16 finishes for each driver will count in their point
total over the 24-week season.



West Region tracks still waiting to open the 2006 StormPay.com Weekly Racing
Series season are Whynot Raceway Park in Meridian Speedway on May 6, Malden
Speedway in Malden, MO this Friday night, Camden Speedway in Camden, TN this
Friday night, and Thunderhill Raceway in Lawrenceburg, TN this Saturday
night.



Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS will run on off nights at Columbus
Speedway. Magnolia Motor Speedway will open this Saturday night.



East Region tracks still waiting to open for StormPay.com Weekly Racing
Series action are Willard Speedway in Willard, KY this Saturday night,
Thunder Mountain Speedway in Fyffe, AL this Saturday night, and Childersburg
Speedway in Childersburg, AL on May 5,



StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series officials have announced an added
incentive for the season that will include all drivers at all sanctioned
weekly tracks.



Series officials have decided to give each track champion an opportunity to
win an aluminum-head GM Performance "604" Crate Engine. A drawing will be
held at the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series National Championship Race at
East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL on December 15, and all StormPay.com
Weekly Racing Series Track Champions will be eligible to win.



Drivers at all StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series tracks will all be
competing for Track, Regional and National point funds.
