TAMPA, FL - Carlton Freeman of Eastaboga, AL proved that
winning isn't everything in competing with the StormPay.com Weekly Racing
Series during the 2006 season. Freeman only posted one win this season in
24 starts, but consistent top ten finishes got him the StormPay.com Weekly
Racing Series East Region Championship Runner-Up spot.
Driving the #22 Pate's Paint and Body Shop GRT, Freeman
turned in his single victory at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.
Along with the win, Freeman also posted 17 top five finishes, and 23 top ten
efforts. Freeman ended up with a 20-point advantage over Adam Martin of
Talladega, AL for the second spot in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series
East Region.
Freeman had 13 starts at Talladega Short Track, and 11
starts at Childersburg Speedway in Childersburg, AL where he finished second
to John Pierce of Billingsley, AL in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series
Division point standings.
In addition to his post-season awards, Freeman will be one
of 84 invitees to the $3,000-to-win StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series
National Championship Race at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL this
Thursday night. The top six drivers in each StormPay.com Weekly Racing
Series Region, and the top six drivers from the StormPay.com Weekly Racing
Series tracks have been invited to the National Championship Race.
Freeman will be one of 22 drivers that will be honored for
their 2006 accomplishments at the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series Awards
Banquet on Wednesday night at the Weston Hotel in Tampa, FL.
The StormPay.com Awards Banquet will honor the top six drivers in both the
East and West Regions of the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series, and the top
ten drivers in the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Tour.
Almost $100,000 in cash and prizes will be handed out at the StormPay.com
Dirt Late Model Series Awards Banquet.
