Stout Field of Drivers Competing for Quarter Master Rookie of the Year in 2010 for Lucas Oil Late Mo

CORONA, CA (March 26, 2010) - A stout lineup of four drivers have announced their intentions to run for the 2010 Quarter Master "Rookie of the Year" on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Quarter Master will again be the title sponsor of the "Rookie of the Year" program in 2010 and will make the special presentation at the year end banquet to the top Rookie on the series for 2010. The Quarter Master Rookie of the Year program for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series continues to get bigger every year for racers who elect to run the series and this year's program offers both cash and numerous product awards to the top rookies of the series in 2010.

This year's program will pay $10,000 to the winner of the Rookie of the Year, with the runner up receiving $2,500 at the year end banquet. Other awards posted for the Quarter Master Rookie of the Year program include a special product award from Quarter Master, a complete set of connecting rods from Dyers Rods, 10 sheets of pre-finished aluminum from Wrisco Industries, $500 product award from Wiles Driveshafts, one set of wheels from Weld Racing, a complete car product package from Dominator Race Products, special product award from Hypercoil Springs, product award from FAST Shafts, and a complete MD3 nose combo package from Performance Bodies for both the Rookie of the Year and the runner-up.

The winner out of this year's candidates in the running for the $10,000 top prize by collecting the most points among the four participants will join an impressive list of previous Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series "Rookie of the Year" winners including; Scott James (2005), Steve Casebolt (2006), Justin Rattliff (2007), Terry Casey (2008) and last year's winner, John Blankenship.

Chris Wall of Holden, LA joins the Lucas Oil Series this year full-time as the 42-year-old alligator farmer is in search of the top rookie honors in 2010. Wall is off to a strong start this season already recording four Red Buck Cigar Fast Qualifier honors which includes a new Late Model track record at East Bay (FL) Raceway Park, set back in February, to go along with two sixth-place finishes this year. Wall drives a MasterSbilt by Stuckey Impala SS powered by a Wall2Wall Performance Engine and sponsored by C&M Gator Farm, Gator Trax Boats, GVS Racing, Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil, Xtreme Graphics, Phase II Sign Supply.com and Hoosier Racing Tires.

An excited Eric Wells of Hazard, KY has announced his intentions to run for the series rookie of the year in 2010. The 21-year-old student at Hazard Community College is studying Business Management, and will hit the road for the first time in his racing career. Wells, who turned heads last year by making both the World 100 and North/South 100 for the first time against the best in dirt late model racing drives a Rocket Chassis powered by a Custom Racing Engine and sponsored by Wells Motorsports, Convenience Lube, Skillsaw Designs, Expression Floral and Gifts, Cox Wrecker Service and Tim Short Automotive. Wells' best finish so far this year with the series is a tenth at Volunteer (TN) Speedway.

Tim Isenberg of Marshfield, WI is another leading candidate for the Quarter Master Rookie of the Year honors on the Lucas Oil Series. The 28-year-old second generation racer is an engineer by trade and has a season-best seventh place finish at East Bay in February so far this year. Isenberg is driving a new Mars Car Chassis from the Jimmy and Chris Mars racing stable with a Pro Power Engine under the hood. His car is sponsored by Custom Fabricating and Repair, McMillan Electric, Chase Race Decals, Basic Stainless, Inc. and Don Nickolai Construction.

Will Vaught of Crane, MO will be pursuing the top rookie honors with the Lucas Oil series in 2010 as the 23-year-old racer teams up with car owner Paul McKenna in hitting the road this year. Vaught, who unfortunately missed the DART Winternationals at East Bay after his hauler broke down on the way home after racing in Arizona at the end of January, joined the tour at Bulls Gap and Cherokee driving a Warrior Race Cars entry powered by a Clements Racing Engines. The sponsors on the car are Big Dog Motorsports, Mark Martin Chevrolet, Circle M Auto Sales, GW Performance, Branson Craft Mall and New Vision Graphics. His best finish so this year with the series is a 14th place finish at Bulls Gap.
