Street stock tech!

Fuast fan this is the cam that I know of that some guys are running. It is a flat tapped cam.
Speedway cam part # 915-110741
3500 to 7000 RPM Range.
516 Intake lift

But on a engine that you know most likely will not be teched to closely With some extra engine work and stock appearing parts that cam will work. Or just have one custom ground for your engine that will run 7000 RPM. Until they do more teching the wallet is the only limit.

That cam will work, yes but it is far from optimum. If they are not doing a tech inspection the sky's the limit.

Another often overlooked factor is the quality of the cam grind. Base circle runout can really kill you on a flat tappet hydraulic cam and it would be something to check if you're struggling to get enough RPM. I don't think I've ever plotted any of those cams that Speedway sells but it would be quite interesting.

You know the class is getting bad when people I know will tell me that they don't run tricity because there's cars aren't cheated up enough to be able to compete

No you know it's bad when people spend more bitching on the internet than actually working on there cars. The same people always mad in this class about the winner. Sam kizer, josh Jackson,Danny ems, Jason Worley, Tommy Gaither. Doesn't matter they must all be cheating to win. You don't see the a-mod drivers crying every week cause Harrison wins. Yes everyone has a different size checkbook but the fact is racing hasn't gotten any cheaper and isn't going to no matter it be imca or ump. Spend a little more time working on your cars instead of complaining and you'd have better racing weekly.

After watching the truck race highlights and how they have been in the past. You would think a highly teched stock car class would deliver the best racing and cost.

Spec frame. Good body rules for "stock" cars. And heck even a few spec motor choices.

The trucks slow but race side by side a ton. And they are all the same just about

Or our cars are as good as they are going to get within the rules because we don't want to cheat them up like some of the others have. And our cars are ready to go for the next race. So we do have some free time. And yes we are bitching about a select few about cheating but it's only because the ones we are complaining about have been caught cheating at other tracks this year and haven't gotten tore down at our local tracks for whatever reason. It just seems odd to us that's all. And for the record I don't suspect Harris or Gaither are cheating. I don't know who the others are that you listed so I can not comment on them

Fyi I've never complained before I have always ran by the rule book and have beat most on your list. I also don't have a problem if there engine builder has found some great secret to getting them to run that good. By all means that doesn't mean we don't need to crack down on teching this class before it becomes obsolete. If you think any diffrant maby we should check your car first.

Couldn't of said it better myself!!!

There really isn't anything wrong with running as much lift as is mechanically possible. If the head levels out at .500 lift putting in a cam with .700 lift could be superior as long as the head doesn't have some sort of severe problem with the short side, stalling and backing up. It will improve breathing because the valve will spend more time at or above it's "saturation point" so to speak. The engine only sees the relative restriction over time not the amount of lift or curtain area once the piston demand becomes high say 75 degrees ATDC.

Having a lift rule is somewhat ludicrous just because rocker ratio is highly variable anyway.

You wanna be a tech guy?

No whats bad is if tracks don't do the tech it requires to build a class and not run people off. then when they tech and catch people make them pay a fine and tell them your out for 2 weeks and if every track would do this it would stop a lot of the cheating going on and could possibly help the car count.

I say check them all

There is a guy in his garage right now somewhere in this country working his ass of to win, while your on here whining, you ever think some of you couldn't drive a one cow cattle drive, now go be productive with your program!

How many wins have you had. I've had quite a few and very well know what it takes to build and maintain a fast consistent car. I ask you this what does that have to do with having a good tech program to keep all cars legal and racing tight!!!

Well let's see, Jason Worley raced street stock 2 yrs won 2 championships, a ump national title and won at just about every track he went to, then went bmod racing at I55 and won track title, in 3 seasons in my stuff, as for me I have made $16,000 in 15 nites with my new street stock that I have $6000 in whole car racing the best in the country, because we know how to do it legally and win instead of whining about more tech, be glad you have a place to race, many don't, and as for as the post goes even if they teched some guys just can't drive, if they worried about there driving as much as they do the competitors car they might win, you race the track not the other guys and you will be fast, Brian Worley BWRC
