Pure Street Rules

No Motor Claim.

NO AFTERMARKET PERFORMANCE PARTS ALLOWED!!

Any American coupe or sedan. Stock Production frame with minimum 101" wheelbase. Body may be shortened, sectioned or have chopped tops. MUST REMAIN STOCK APPEARING. After market body OK. No homemade bodies, No wedge bodies.

Stock fire wall, floor pan must extend to rear of drivers seat. ...Floor pan must cover transmission. Frame must remain stock. Sub-frame cars may be tied together under car. Fenders may be trimmed to allow tire clearance. Front and rear bumpers in stock position required and must be rounded off. Nose and grill may be replaced with plastic.

Nerf bars not to exceed one (1) inch from body and maximum 1 ½ inch diameter.

FUEL CELL IS MANDATORY. No boat tanks or homemade gas containers are allowed. Trunk flooring may be removed to mount cell. Fuel cells MUST be contained in a reinforced steel container and securely mounted.

Battery may be relocated, but not in drivers compartment and be securely mounted.

Doors MUST be welded shut

All glass and flammable material must be removed.

Cars must have a MINIMUM 6 point cage 1 ½ inch minimum diameter pipe securely welded to frame. Three (3) drivers side window bars required. NO BLACK or GALVANIZED pipe allowed.

After market pedals will be allowed as long as brakes are not adjustable.

Fiberglass hoods and roofs are allowed.

Driver must have a chain thru the front nose and on the rear of car for wrecker to hook to.

Suspension:

Stock type suspension in stock location.

No weight jacks, if weight jacks are present, must be welded and inoperable.

Front shocks must be in stock location. Rear shocks may be relocated if needed and only 1 shock per wheel.

Lowering will be allowed.

Right front safety hub is optional.

No sliders. Adjustable shackles are allowed.

Quick Steer allowed.

No Chrysler springs allowed except on Chrysler cars.

ENGINE:

Engine can be set back, but front spark plug hole can be no farther back than center of upper ball joint.

Stock rockers or roller tip rockers allowed..

362 cubic inch MAXIMUM motor to be stock GM to GM, Ford to Ford, etc.

Stock production cast iron heads only. No porting or polishing.

No aftermarket performance parts allowed.---- No Bowties.

Screw-in studs and guide plates allowed.

After market camshafts are allowed. No rollers.

Must pull 15 inches of vacuum at 1000 rpm, vacuum to be pulled from port at base of carburetor or intake. Top 3 cars will be checked after feature race. 12 volt hookup for track tach required. All engines must be turned off after vacuum test flat top or dished pistons only. Two valve relief piston allowed.

Stock or stock type replacement rods are legal. No H-Beams or lightweight rods allowed. Must be stock lenght (no GM 6 inch).

Stock HEI or point distributor, no supercoils or magnetics or msd.

Cast iron or aluminum intakes, 2 or 4 barrel ok . No air gap type intakes.

Carburetors spacer not exceeding 2 inches in height, including gaskets.

Mechanical fuel pump in stock location. Stock manual fuel pump, no electric or belt driven pumps.

Headers and exhaust manifolds allowed. NO 180 degree headers.

Carburetor can be no larger than Holley 500 cfm 2 barrel and must pass inspection from top side with gauge. (Must be stock venture 1 3/8 inch)

Also on the carburetor, 500 Holley must retain the stock 1-11/16" baseplate.

Choke horn may be removed.

Rochester and Motorcraft are legal. No aerosol carbs allowed.

Oil pans must have 3/4" inspection plug on side of oil pan.

REAR ENDS:

Rear ends must be locked or posi trac.

9 inch Ford rear end permitted.

Rear disc brakes permitted.

Floater type rear ends permitted. But no 3/4 ton truck rear ends.

Car must weigh 2950 lbs with driver after race.

All cars must weigh after heat and feature race.

Track tires, asphalt scuffed take-offs, 50 or harder or 8" highway street tires. NO MUD OR SNOW TIRES. E-Mod tires allowed.

8 or 10 inch steel wheels

8 or 10 inch bead lock allowed on right front and right rear only.

1 inch lug nuts MANDATORY.

FUEL

Racing gas permitted, E85 and pump gas permitted.

No Nitrous oxide or alcohol.

Any Pure Street car winning 3 features ( consecutive or non-consecutive) in a row, will go through complete inspection. If car does not have inspection plug in oil pan then motor will be subject to tear down.

Rules & Regulations
1. All cars and/or trucks are subject to inspection at
anytime and must remain completely stock, except where
noted below. Absolutely NO Racing Equipment Allowed!!
It will be confiscated by AARA. Failure to comply will
result in an indefinite suspension. Rear wheel drive
midsize or full size American Sedans. Two wheel drive
S-l0, S-15, Ford Ranger, Dodge Dakota, Mazda B series
and Jeep mini Pickups, may run under the following
rules.
2. Fuel cell , fuel system , roll cage specs ,
safety and appearance :
Roll over bars MUST be a box over and behind the
driver. Bars MUST be at least 1 ½ inch o.d. steel tubing
with a minimum of .095 wall thickness NO ALUMINUM
TUBING. A minimum of four bars of the same 1 ½ inch
material as the roll bars MUST protect the inside of the
driver’s door. Three (3) bars of the same material MUST
protect the inside of the right side door. All door bars
MUST have minimum of three (3) vertical pegs from
door bars to the frame in each door. Top of driver’s
helmet MUST be below roll cage. All roll cages MUST be
approved by safety Officials. Rear of driver’s seat (at base)
to center line of rear end housing shall be a minimum of
27 inches.
Contained fuel cell required, MUST be in trunk, securely
fastened to the frame rails. Electric fuel pumps allowed.
Fuel shutoff valves MUST be within easy reach of driver.
Rear loop may be used steel pipe 1¾ inch diameter
maximum. MUST be inside of trunk and follow the
contour of the frame. Fuel cell not to be lower than center
of rear end. MUST have loop to protect fuel cell. Tank or
cell MUST mount in frame of minimum 1 inch X 1 inch
steel. Two (2) 2 inch X 1/8 inch straps must surrounding

cell. Gasoline fuel only — NO ADDITIVES OF ANY
KIND ALLOWED.
Safety & Appearance
SAFETY & APPEARANCE
1. All cars MUST be equipped with window net and
mounting must be approved by safety officials. $10.00
fine if net comes down during a race. NO car may start a
race without a window net.
2. All drivers MUST wear approved racing helmet,
Current Snell recommended.
3. All drivers MUST wear an approved fire retardant
driving suit. All drivers MUST wear safety goggles or
helmet shield.
4. All cars MUST be equipped with approved safety
belts and shoulder harness, double straps are required.
They MUST be installed in a manner approved by safety
officials. Only quick release aircraft type belt will be
allowed. All cars MUST have a 5-point seat belt system,
seat belt, shoulder harness, and crotch strap. Minimum
3 inch wide belts MUST be used. Seat belts and driver
seat MUST be secured to the frame or roll cage. We
recommend that seat belt and shoulder harness be
replaced every 2 years.
5. All cars MUST be painted and MUST be in clean and
presentable condition upon entering competition. They
will be allowed three (3) weeks to repaint and repair sheet
metal damage after an accident.
6. The car number MUST be painted on the car in a
legible manner and in sharply contrasting colors 18” high
on both sides of the car and on the roof facing the left side.
A white number minimum of 6” high painted on a black
background, MUST be mounted in the upper right hand
corner of the windshield opening. Diver’s name must
appear above door.

7. Remove ALL glass, mirrors, body moldings, exterior
trim, door handles, bumper fillers, header panels, plastic
grills and parts. Remove ALL interior trim, upholstery,
carpet, insulation and any other combustible material
from inside the vehicle.
8. Floor pan must remain stock from front firewall to rear
axle. Plug up unused holes with aluminum or steel, and
reduce openings to a minimum where linkages and etc.

9. Windshield must be replaced with full screen wire
mesh with a minimum screen size opening of 1/2” to a
maximum opening of 1”. Install 3 vertical bars of 3/8 inch
minimum diameter, reasonably spaced on driver’s side.
NO rearview mirrors!
10. Body panels must be stock appearing. Leave no sharp
edges on outside of body, bumpers, wheels and interior.
Stock bumper must be in stock location. Loop bumper
ends back to frame with strap steel or tubing to prevent
hooking.
11. Tubing bumpers under fascias must also hook back
to frame. Remember smooth edges! Step bumpers must
have tethers to the frame. No stop bumpers allowed, and
no reinforcing of bumpers permitted.
12. Hood should fit tight to base of windscreen, if not fill
gap with sheet metal or aluminum.
13. TRUCKS ONLY: A Tonneau cover of 0.040 aluminum
or steel must cover the truck bed. Maximum 8 inch
width clear Lexan spoiler with (3), 18 inch angled Lexan
supports.
14. Battery required to be mounted in the trunk or bed
between frame rails. Minimum 3/8 inch hold down bolts.
All safety items must meet with tech inspector’s approval.

15. Hoosier, A & H, E-MOD optional, Stock passenger
car tires only. No mud, snow, exotic or trick tires. Siping
and grooving of all tires permitted.
16. Steel wheels only. Maximum 8 inch width. Right
front wheel must be reinforced, others recommended.
Must run 9/16 inch minimum wheel studs on right side.
One bead lock permitted.
17. Must have at least 3 wheel brake system. Rear disc
brakes allowed using all O.E.M components. Fabricated
brackets permitted. Single cylinder master cylinder for
brakes non-adjustable, NO bias bars.
18. Stock suspension and steering only. Steering
quickener optional. No racing shocks or springs etc.
19. TRUCKS ONLY: Lowering blocks may be used on
leaf springs; front springs may be modified or replaced to
lower ride height.
20. Locked rear ends permitted gear ratio optional.
Floater rear end optional, mini spools ok.
21. Steel drive shafts only, must be painted white. A
drive shaft loop made of 1/8 inch thick by 2 inch wide
strap steel no more than 12 inches past front u-joint.
22. Must have stock O.E.M flywheel, clutch, and pressure
plate as per make of engine. Hydraulic throw out bearing
is permitted. Manual transmission must run blow-proof
steel bell housing.
23. All transmissions must have working forward and
reverse. Manual transmission must be as manufactured,
no shaving or eliminating gears. All gears need to engage
from driver’s seat.
24. Automatics must have a working torque converter
with a ¼ inch thick steel scatter shield or explosion proof
blanket over torque converter. Transmission coolers
allowed in engine compartment only.

25. Headers allowed. Exhaust must run past rear
transmission mount. Noise level must meet local track
decibel limits. Mandatory manufactured mufflers only!!
Strictly enforced!
26. All engine parts must remain stock or stock
replacements, except where noted below. Flat top or dish
pistons only. Valve size must remain stock for heads
used. Standard lifter diameter only, solid or hydraulic
permitted. Rocker studs are a non-tech item. Standard
rocker arm ratio for engine run.
27. The following cylinder heads are permitted:
• GM 327~350 cid; 126, 185,339, 441, 487, 493, 624, 882,
993, and 997.
• GM 283-305-307; 416, 434,450, 520, 601, 896.
• Ford 351 W; Wcid C9OE, and later.
• Ford 289-302;Wcid-any O.E.M cast iron Windsor
head.
• Chrysler318; any O.E.M 318 cast iron head.
28. Cam must be hydraulic/non-roller only.
29. Eight cylinder engines must run a two (2) barrel stock
carburetor. NO Holleys!!
30. GM 350 and Ford 351 W. carburetors must mount
to a stock O.E.M cast iron intake, without the use of an
adaptor or spacer plate.
31. All other eight (8) cylinder engines, any stock O.E.M
carburated intake manifold with one adapter plate of a
maximum height of two (2) inches. Ford 302 W. Weiand
8011 permitted.
32. Six (6) cylinder options. Any six cylinder engine with
less than 265 cid as manufactured may be run. Any intake
manifold of a one piece design will be allowed. A stock
Holley #44 12 500CFM carburetor permitted. Removal of

choke assembly and air horn are the only modifications
allowed.
33. Cars engine must remain in stock location. Trucks
with V6; #1 spark plug maximum engine setback to center
line of upper ball joints. Trucks with V8 #2 cylinder on
Ford and #3 on GM and Chrysler maximum center line
of upper ball joints. Frame may be modified for engine or
exhaust clearance. Firewall may be altered for engine or
exhaust clearance.
34. Any added weight MUST be securely attached with
a minimum of two (2) ½” diameter bolts, Any added
weight MUST be painted white and MUST identified
with the car number on it.
35. No Claims!! Official’s decisions are FINAL!!
36. This class currently participates at Belle-Clair
Speedway only.
37. All monetary punishments for illegal cars or trucks
will be $25.00 first offense and $50.00 for the second.
Third violation will result in suspension for balance of
the season. The driver may also loose his/her points. All
fines will be carried over to the next season if not paid

2011 Street Stock Rules
2011 STREET STOCK RULES

IT WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF ALL PARTICIPANTS TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND ALL RULES SET FORTH BY TRI-CITY SPEEDWAY!

1. FRAMES: All cars completely stock. Full frame cars of sedan type or Pickup Trucks will be allowed. Minimum wheel base 108". No hearses, commercial vehicles, station wagons or convertibles. No foreign cars. Full steel bodies only. Rear frame rails may be replaced with 2"X3" square tubing after kickup only! Frame must remain stock. No shortening.

2. BODY: Body must be GM to GM, Ford to Ford, etc. Stock front windshield posts must remain in stock position. Body may not be shortened, chopped or sectioned. Homemade or aftermarket bodies will be allowed as long as they remain “STOCK” APPEARING!! Fenders may be trimmed for tire clearance. Nose, grille or tail section may be replaced with aftermarket plastic pieces, (i.e. Performance Bodies) No tubing, bars, or iron protruding outside of OEM body lines (i.e. no nerf bars). Doors must be welded and securely fastened shut! All chrome trim removed from car, including door handles, moldings and mirrors. Interior sheet metal may be removed. All flammables to be removed (back seat, headliner, etc.). Trunk floor may be removed.
3. SPOILER: Rear spoiler will be allowed with maximum height of 5” (Total Material)

Cannot exceed the width of the deck lid.

4. HOOD: Hood must be in original OEM condition. No cowl induction hoods, or open holes for air cleaner clearance allowed. Hood scoops will be allowed as long as there is no opening of any kind to air cleaner, for appearance only!

5. INTERIORS: Stock firewall and floor pan in stock position. Floor pan to go from front firewall to front of rear tires (behind rear passenger seat location) and from door to door. Must have rear firewall between cockpit and fuel cell- No cutting of either firewall, except for roll cage clearance. Aluminum sheet allowed in interior only, for rear firewall, dash/gauge panel, and hole filler only. A full interior will be allowed as long as there is a removable panel to be able to inspect the enclosed area of the interior!!
6. BUMPERS: Stock front and rear bumpers in stock position. Must be chained on each side to frame or welded. Must be rounded off with tubing to prevent hooking. Must be stock appearing. Tubing bumpers will be allowed w/plastic nose or tail panels.

7. WINDSHIELD: No glass or plastic windshields. Three (3) equally spaced vertical bars with screen on driver side minimal.

8. ROLL CAGE: Full six (6) point cage with front and rear hoop is mandatory. Roll cage must be securely welded to frame. Tubing must be a minimum of 1.5" in diameter and .095 wall thickness, securely welded to the frame. Three horizontal door bars required on driver side. No galvanized, black gas, or aluminum tubing allowed. Roll cages will be inspected. Roll bars within driver area must be padded. No outside side rails allowed. Approved window net on drivers side, must be quick release, rectangular type.

9. SEATS: Approved aluminum racing seat mandatory. Seat must be secured to cage assembly using four (4) grade eight bolts with lock nuts, no less than three eighths (3/8) inch diameter.

10. PEDALS: Stock or Aftermarket pedals will be allowed. There can be only 1 Master Cylinder for brakes, NO Brake Balance Bars of any kind will be allowed!

11. BRAKES: Three wheel brakes will be allowed, but must be in good working order.

12. SEAT BELTS: Five point, three inch, approved safety harness mandatory (6 point-double anti sub belt recommended). Manufacturers date tag must show 1/07 or newer. If date tag is not present, belts must be replaced. Belts must be secured to cage assembly. For tab mount belts, one half (1/2) inch diameter, grade eight bolts and lock nuts must be used.

13. FIRE EXTINGUISHER: All cars to be equipped with a filled, operable fire extinguisher securely mounted within reach of the driver.

14. SUITS & HELMETS: Approved drivers suit mandatory, (Nomex recommended). Full face SNELL approved (SA-95) or newer helmets mandatory. MOTORCYCLE HELMETS (M-95) WILL NOT BE ALLOWED. Racing Gloves will be Mandatory!

15. FUEL CELL: Contained fuel cells only, fuel cells to be securely mounted in trunk area, using minimum (2) 2"x 1/8" flat steel straps. Cars to have full firewall between fuel cell and driver.

16. BATTERY: Battery required to be mounted in trunk area between frame rails minimum 3/8" hold down bolts.

17. STEERING: Solid Steering Column, from Steering Box to Steering Wheel. Approved Racing Steering Wheel, Quick Release Hub & Steering Quickners will be allowed.

18. TIRES: Hoosier E-Mod 26.5 or 27.5 “A” or “H” ONLY! Siping will be allowed, NO GROOVING ALLOWED! NO CHEMICALS, SOAKING or SOFTENING of any tire will be allowed!


19. WHEELS: Maximum 8" wide wheel Right Front or Right Rear Beadlock only! Racing wheels mandatory on right side. No mags, aluminum, plastic or fiberglass wheels, 9/16" minimum studs with 1" lugs mandatory. Mud caps will be allowed.

20. SUSPENSION: All Steering / Suspension items must be OEM in stock location. Stock mount shocks in stock location. Aftermarket springs with spacers allowed. No screw type weight jacks.

21. REARENDS: Locked rear ends allowed. Ford rear ends okay, using OEM suspension for model. No truck rear ends. FLOATERS REARENDS WILL BE ALLOWED!

22. RADIATORS: Aftermarket radiators will be allowed. Transmission coolers will be allowed & mounted in the engine compartment only.

23. CARBURATORS: Stock OEM Two (2) barrel carburetor, NO HOLLEY’S!!! Carburator to be mounted to manifold. No adapter plates. Choke can be removed.

G.M. Rochester,Ford Autolite & Chrysler will be allowed. Rochesters will be allowed to

Run Holley Jets. Venturi Size: 1 3/8” Butterfly Size: 1 11/16” MAXIMUM!

MUST FIT TRI-CITY TECH GAUGES, NO EXCEPTIONS!

25. FUEL PUMPS: OEM Style block mounted fuel pumps will be allowed. No electric fuel pumps allowed. No pressure regulators or bypass returns of any type will be allowed.

26. INTAKE MANIFOLDS: Cast iron OEM intake, NO MODIFICATIONS of any type allowed. No grinding, machining, acid porting or polishing of any kind will be allowed. Weight must be OEM.

25. EXHAUST: Collector Type Headers will be allowed. Exhaust must run past rear of transmission.

26. FLYWHEEL & CLUTCH: Stock OEM flywheel (no aluminum). Stock single disk clutch and pressure plate per make of engine. Explosion proof bell housing required (scatter shields). Automatic transmissions to run explosion proof blanket or 1/4" steel scatter shield over converter. Automatics must have a working torque convertor.

27. WEIGHT: 3,200lb’s w/driver after race. NO TOLERANCE!

28. HEADS: Engines and head castings - single valve spring only, screw-in stud guide plate OK. NO MILLING OR CUTTING OF VALVE SPRING SEATS TO ALLOW USE OF LARGER VALVE SPRINGS, MUST USE STOCK OEM VALVE SPRINGS! GM-350 CID, to use these castings only 487-882-997-624-126-493-185-339-441-993

30. CRANKSHAFT & CONNECTING RODS: Stock OEM crankshaft & connecting rods, no aftermarket rotating assemblies will be allowed. Stock stroke (must match block #’s), No polishing, knife edging, chroming or lightning of crankshafts or connecting rods allowed. Balancing will be permitted.

31. IGNITION: Stock type HEI or point type distributors and parts. No Aftermarket Coils, MSD Ignition, or magnetos.

32. OIL PANS: "Claimer" style pans allowed. Inspection plug will be MANDATORY & must be inline with the #3 cylinder. Must be a minimum of 1/2" pipe!

33. CAMSHAFT, LIFTERS & ROCKER ARMS: Hydraulic/non roller only, stamped steel rocker arms only, no roller rockers or roller tip rockers.

34. BALLAST: Added weight permitted. Any added weight must be securely fastened with 2 ½” bolts minimum and must be painted white.

35. APPEARANCE: Number to be at least 24" high and easily readable and in contrasting colors. To be displayed on both sides and top of car.

36. CAR/DRIVER REGISTRATION/MEMBERSHIP: MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED TO RECIEVE TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS AND TO COMPETE FOR YEAR END AWARDS! Tri-City Speedway decals must be displayed to receive contingency or cash awards.

38. CAR PROTEST RULES:

A. All car protests must be placed with the Director of Competition no later than 10 minutes after the “A” feature.

B. The Protest Fee is $100 and must be given to an Official along with the protest. Car in protest will be checked after the main event. If the car in protest is illegal the protester will be returned his $100. If the car is legal, the $100 is given to the car in protest.

C. Management reserves the right to refuse any or all claims or protests that may occur!

D. Any car found to be ILLEGAL will lose all Championship Points earned for the year to date of the infraction and all Money earned for the event in question.

E. Registered car owners and/or drivers are the only legal protesters.

F. TRACK OFFICIALS HAVE THE RIGHT TO INSPECT ANY CAR AT ANYTIME!

G. IF IT’S NOT WRITTEN IT WILL BE CONSIDERED ILLEGAL!
 
UMP PURESTOCK RULES

1.1. All cars must be stock; cars must be of Sedan type only, no small, unsafe cars. No hearses, station wagons, convertibles, or commercial vehicles are allowed. No foreign cars. Full frames only. You may cover headlight openings only. Rear frame rails may be replaced with 2"x3" square tubing after kick up only!

2. All cars must have sturdy seat belts and safety harness. IMPORTANT: Five point, three inch approved safety harness mandatory and must be 5 yrs or newer with date tag visible. Belts must be secured to cage assembly. Flame resistant racing suit required. Gloves recommended. All drivers must have an approved racing helmet.

3. Roll cage: Full six-point roll cage from center to rear axle must be used, rear loop from frame to frame allowed. No intentional reinforcement of bumpers allowed. Bumpers must be curved inward. Three door bars on both sides mandatory. Bars on quarter panel & door to protect car are required. The bars, which should be 1 ½" or 1 ¾" pipe, must be cut on an angle so they are able to slide off, close to the body, and must be capped off. Front safety loop not to exceed 1 ¾" O.D. round tubing with maximum loop no to exceed 5" as measured from front side of tubing in front of radiator. Loop to be a single bar. A brace for the radiator may be used with an upright on each side and brace to the frame. In front of "A" frame, a maximum of 1½" O.C. X minimum 1" I.D. pipe of tubing.

4. No glass or plastic, windshield must be full screen (wire mesh) with three vertical bars spaced 6´apart on the driver’s side.

5. All chrome must be removed from the car. Including door handles moldings and mirrors. No interior metal removed. Except door panel.

6. All doors must be welded or pop riveted shut.

7. All flammable materials must be removed (backseat, headliners, etc).

8. Contained fuel cell only. Fuel cell tanks must be mounted in to the trunk securely. Minimum (2) 2" x 1/8" flat steel straps. Cars must have a full firewall between fuel cell and driver.

9. Battery required to be mounted in trunk between frame rails minimum 3/8" hold down bolts.

10. Roll bar can be used behind nose. All bumpers must be rounded. Must be chained on each side to frame. Must have loop to extend from inner edge back to frame. All bumpers must be welded on and have a good tow hookup! If stock bumper is used, it may not be reinforced.

11. Tires may be Hoosier E-mod (26.5 or 27.5 "A" or "H" only) or Goodyear or stock passenger tires. Siping will be allowed. Grooving allowed. All tires must be the same brand.

12. Steel racing wheels only. No mag aluminum, plastic, or fiberglass wheels. Must run 9/16 minimum studs with 1" lug nuts on right side. Bead locks on right side only. Maximum 8" wheel. Right front wheel must be reinforced, the rest recommended. Offset wheels and spacers are allowed.

13. Brakes: Must be a least three-wheel brake system. Brakes are mandatory!

14. Racing shocks and springs must be stock mounted in stock location.

15. Locked rear ends will be allowed. Floater rearends will be allowed. No limited slip differentials (No traction control). Any pinion angle allowed. Trailing arms must remain stock length.

16. Transmission coolers allowed in engine compartment only.

17. OEM replacement aftermarket clutch, pedals, and master cylinders allowed. No mid mounts, must have transmission cross member. Engine must be in stock location.

18. Must have stock O.E.M. flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate per make of engine. Drive shaft loops no more than 12" past front yolk. Drive shaft must be painted white. Must be steel.

19. Manual transmissions must run explosion-proof bell housing.

20. Automatic transmissions must run explosion proof blanket or 1/4" steel scatter shield over converter.

21. A stock replacement Upper Control Arm made by U-B Machine Part #14-0809-5R 8" Right or #14-0829-6L 8.5" Left that have a steel crossshaft will be allowed. These bolt directly to stock mounting brackets. You will NOT be allowed to move the brackets on the frame. These a-arms use the stock K-5208 balljoint as well. These will be optional, not mandatory! There is no performance advantage to this control arm, just the ease of being able to get them. Chubby Chassis will keep these in stock. 618-667-2727

22. No titanium or other exotic metals allowed (body, engine, and/or suspension).

23. Quick steers allowed. Aftermarket power steering pumps and reservoirs allowed.

24. Cars allowed 5" spoilers, trucks allowed 8" spoiler. Spoilers cannot exceed the width of the deck lid.

25. Can run 7-quart oil pans

26. Fan shroud required.

27. Floor pans are required. Stock firewall and floor pan in stock position. Floor pan is to go from front firewall to front of rear tires and from door to door.

28. No claims.

29. Fuel: Pump gas - racing gas or E85 only. No alcohol, nitrous oxide, nitrous methane, or propoline oxide.

30. Minimum weight 3,200 pounds. Removable weight allowed. Must be painted white and securely fastened. All cars must weight with driver. Minimum of two - ½ inch bolts.

31. Cars must have 18 inch number on each door and the roof. There must be a 5 inch number on the right side head light or on the upper right hand windshield.

All numbers and letters must be easily visible and readable by the track officials. In the situation of duplicate numbers the track officials may assign a letter to you. It is your responsibility to add this letter to your car on the roof, driver’s side and passenger side; failure to do so will cause you to be scored last for your event.

32. Random brake checks will be enforced. If your car fails the mandatory brake check, you will not be allowed to start the night’s Feature event.

Engine Rules

33. Must run stock 2-barrel carburetor, NO HOLLYS! Carburetors must mount directly on intake without the use of an adapter plate.

34. Carburetor will be checked with carburetor tool. (may remove choke plate only).

35. Must have cast iron 2-barrel intakes.

36. No Siamese blocks.

37. All engines must be of stock bore and stroke (.060 max. over bore).

38. No Dome Pistons. Flattop or dished pistons only.

39. Heads: Engines and head castings- single valve spring only, screw-in stud guide plate OK.

2013 DIRTcar Stock Car Rules



TO ALL COMPETITORS/PARTICIPANTS



v The following are the 2013 DIRTcar Stock Car rules. All amendments supersede any previous rules regarding any technical article and/or aspect.

v Under the guideline of the 2013 DIRTcar Stock Car rules any and/or rules and as stated in the 2013 DIRTcar UMP Rule Book, all DIRTcar rules apply to all sanctioned divisions.

v The specifications published shall be considered a section of the “Official Rules and Specifications” for all events, series and sanctions by World Racing Group. All sections should be considered when determining specifications and governance.

15.0 DIRTcar Stock Car Rules



ANY CAR, TEAM AND/OR DRIVER THAT DOES NOT MEET THESE SPECIFICATIONS AND/OR EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS WILL BE SUBJECT TO PENALTIES AS DETERMINED BY THE DIRTcar and/or World Racing Group OFFICIALS.



15.1 – Engine



A.) The engine and body must be manufactured by the same company and be within the same manufacturer’s model line when introduced into competition.

B.) The number one (1) spark plug must align itself in a perpendicular line with the center of the upper ball joint for each manufacturer.

C.)The engine block must be cast iron from an OEM manufacturer. In addition to the factory OEM blocks only the GM Bowtie blocks with the casting numbers of 10051181, 10051182 and 10051183 will be permitted. The SHP DART Block will be permitted for competition.

D.) Aluminum engine blocks will not be permitted.

E.) Cast iron cylinder heads of any make are permitted.

F.) Aluminum cylinder heads of any origin will not be permitted.

G.) Roller tip rocker arms will be permitted.

H.) Roller Cams of any-type will not be permitted. Roller and/or mushroom-type lifters will not be permitted.

I.) Cast Iron or Aluminum intake manifolds will be permitted.

J.) Cast Iron or aftermarket exhaust headers will be permitted. The direction of the exhaust flow must exit away from the car and the track surface.

K.) HEI distributors will be permitted. The OEM firing order for the engine must be maintained.

L.) Racing-type and/or specific racing-type distributors will not be not permitted.

M.) MSD boxes and/or any other ignition amplifier boxes of any type will not be permitted.

N.) Conventional or Aluminum radiators will be permitted

O.) One 500 CFM 4412 Holley unaltered carburetor is required. The local track rules reserve the right for carburetors to be claimed and/or changed (i.e. “swapped”) for competitive analysis and/or inspection.

1.) The original choke tower must remain in its stock position and configuration.

2.) The choke blade may be removed.

3.) Any other alterations to the body of the carburetor, internal working mechanisms, venturis, throttle plate and/or any other part and/or component of the carburetor will not be permitted

4.) Carburetor jets may be replaced and/or adjusted as an engine tuning method.

5,) Only mechanical fuel pumps will be permitted.

P.) All cars must be equipped with an operable starter in working condition.



15.2 – Transmission & Driveline



A.) TRANSMISSION AND DRIVELINE



All Types:



a.) The transmission must have a minimum of at least two forward gears and one reverse, plus neutral position.

b.) With motor running and car in still position, the transmission must be able to engage the car in gear and the car must be able to move forward, then backward.

c.) Only OEM production type transmissions will be permitted – two speed, three speed, four speed and automatic.

d.) Five speed (or more) transmissions, “in and out” boxes, and/or quick change will not be permitted.

e.) All functioning shift levers must be located in OEM position. The flywheel and/or flexplate must be bolted directly to the end of the crankshaft, and the pressure plate must be fastened and/or bolted directly to the flywheel/flexplate.

f.) Only one (1) flywheel/flexplate will be permitted. All driveline components within the bell housing must rotate consistent with the RPM of the engine while the car is in any gear. Only unaltered an unaltered OEM flexplate and/or an OEM replacement will be permitted.

g.) Bert and/or Brinn and/or Falcon type transmissions will not be permitted.



Manual:



a.) Any manual-type transmission must be in an OEM or OEM replacement case.

b.) In manual-type applications only an external steel and/or aluminum, single or multi-disc clutch inside an explosion-proof steel bell housing will be permitted. The bell housing must be a minimum 270 degrees around top of clutch/flywheel area.

c.) Special purpose, after-market type racing transmissions will not be permitted.

Automatic:

a.) Any automatic-type transmission must remain in an OEM or OEM replacement case, with a functioning OEM appearing pump.

b.) An aluminum OEM bell housing and/or aftermarket explosion-proof aluminum bellhousing will be permitted.

c.) The original OEM bell housing must have an approved scattershield constructed of minimum 0.125” inch by three (3) inch steel, 270 degrees around flexplate. Manual bump starts will be permitted.



15.2.1 Drive Shaft

A.) The driveshaft must be a minimum two (2) inch diameter and made from magnetic steel.

B.) The driveshaft must be painted white and clearly labeled with the car number on the white portion of the driveshaft.

C.) Only magnetic steel slip-yokes will be permitted.

D.) A 360-degree drive shaft loop will be required and must be constructed of at least 0.25” inch by two (2) inch magnetic steel, and/or one (1) inch diameter tubing, mounted six (6) inches behind the front universal joint. A second drive shaft hoop is recommended and must be placed within 12” inches of the front universal joint.



15.3 – Chassis

A.) Only American manufactured cars and/or full-size “uni-body” type cars will be permitted. Sports car chassis for the Chevrolet Camaro / Pontiac Firebird and/or the Ford Mustang from 1967 to 1985 will be permitted.

B.) All vehicles must maintain a minimum of 107” (inch) wheelbase.

C.) Altering of stock frame, with the exception of repair to the original frame to maintain original specifications will not be permitted. Repairs that will be acceptable will include patching of holes and/or rust(ed) areas of the frame. Repairs will be approved at the discretion of DIRTCAR Officials and/or local track officials.

D.) The rear frame may be replaced from the rear shock absorber mounts toward the rear of the car.



15.4 – Weight

A.) The minimum weight requirement at all times will be 3,200 lbs (pounds).





B.) All weights must be securely mounted with two (2) ½” (inch) bolts securing them to the frame in a positive manner. The weight(s) must be painted white with the car number clearly marked on them. All weights must be mounted under the body of the car.



15.5 – Fuel Cells and Fuel

A.) Only gasoline-type fuels will be permitted.

B.) The fuel cell must be securely mounted in the rear of the car and secured with straps. It is recommended that the fuel cell be mounted solidly to the rear frame rails of the vehicle in a fabricated manner.

C.) All fuel cells must be enclosed in a metal container.

D.) The fuel cell must be a steel container with a minimum of two (2) one (1) inch by 1/8” (inch) steel straps on each side of the container to mount the fuel cell.

E.) Only gasoline will be permitted. Methanol and/or any other type of fuel and/or any type of fuel additive will not be permitted.



15.6 – Body



A.) The body, frame and engine must match the manufacturer. The body, body mounting position and overall appearance must retain all stock OEM dimensions and original body line and contours and must be centered over the wheels. Shortening and/or overlapping of the body panels will not be permitted. All glass, chrome and upholstery must be removed from body prior to competition. The body must be made from magnetic steel. Bodies that appear to be flat sided and/or do not have stock contours and appearance and/or appear to be fabricated from scratch will not be permitted.



The following are the critical body dimensions;

1.) A minimum roof height of 51”-inches

2.) A minimum of 6”-inches ground clearance, nose and/or the side rocker panel(s).

3.) The minimum door length will be 28 ½”-inches.

4.) The minimum window opening will be 14”-inches measured vertically from the top of the door to the bottom of the drip edge on the roof.

5,) Stock and/or after-market ‘production-type’ piece diagrams may be used for reference in regard to dimensions, proper mounting position and location for any standard body.



B.) The top and/or roof of the car may be removed to install the roll cage assembly, but it must be replaced and fastened in its stock OEM location.

C.) The front windshield opening must be covered with ½” x ½”-inch and/or 1” x ½”-inch wire mesh. It is also recommended that three (3) support bars fabricated from magnetic steel tubing, a minimum of 1”-inch diameter and .095” wall thickness be spaced equally in front of the driver and welded to the top roll cage bar and the dash bar of the roll cage in a vertical manner.

C.) The inner door panels may be altered for the placement of the door bars in the roll cage assembly.

D.) The floorpan and firewalls must be stock in appearance and be complete on both the driver and passenger side of the vehicle. The front firewall must be a maximum of 12”-inches behind the rear edge of the engine block. The floorpan and firewalls (front and rear) may be repaired and/or fabricated, but must retain stock appearance and stock material thickness. The minimum thickness for replacement material / patches on the floorpan will be .060” with the maximum being .125”-inch magnetic steel. The only alterations permitted to the floorpan and/or firewall will be for the proper engine setback. Any alterations to the floorpan and/or firewall material thickness will not be permitted.



1.) Repair of the floorpan or firewall patch, if needed, must be made with magnetic steel with minimum thickness of the original in the stock location. Repair patch is limited to the repair or hole only.

2.) Floorboard may be cut for the mounting of the roll cage only.

3.) The floorboard must have a driveshaft tunnel.

3.) Firewall(s) must be sealed and complete. Open holes in the firewall will not be permitted.

4.) The front of the rear firewall must maintain the same height as the top of the front of the dashboard.

5.) The maximum length of the dashboard from the front firewall to the edge of the dashboard panel will be 24”-inches.

6.) The firewall must be at a 90-degree angle from the floorpan.





E.) The driver and passenger compartment must remain open from left to right exposing the stock-appearing floor pan and to the rear seat firewall and shelf. There may be an enclosure on the passenger side of the vehicle, a maximum of 6”-inches in width from the top outside edge of the door, for the purpose of routing and covering the fuel line as it passes through the driver compartment, unless a conduit is used. Additional sheet metal including cockpit type enclosuresand/or any modifications within the interior of the car and/or driver compartment area will not be permitted.

F.) The trunk floor area may be cut to allow for the mounting of the fuel cell.

G.) The body, including fenders, quarters, hood, roof, decks doors must be magnetic steel and remain stock or approved stock in appearance.

H.) The body must be mounted in its stock OEM location and centered between the wheels. Chopping and/or channeling of the body will not be permitted.

I.) Exposed tubing and/or bracing outside of the bodyline of the car will not be permitted with the exception of rub/side rails.

J.) Plastic aftermarket front nose will be permitted provided they are approved and stock appearing for the year, make and model of the car. Late Model type aerodynamic noses will not be permitted.

K.) Rub/side rails may be attached flush to the body from the fender well to the rear quarter panel.

L.) A maximum seven (7) inch visor/sun shield may be added to the top of the windshield opening. The window openings, front and/or rear, driver and/or passenger side must retain their stock OEM dimensions.

M.) Mirrors of any type are not permitted.

N.) The back of the hood must be sealed off from the driver’s compartment.

O.) The front bumper must remain stock. Sharp edges will not be permitted. Both sides and ends of the bumper must be capped. Tube-type front bumpers will be permitted. Tube-type bumpers must have capped ends.

P.) The rear of the car must be enclosed. The rear bumpers may be covered and must have round edges and connect solidly to the frame. After-market rear bumper covers will be permitted provided they are approved and stock appearing for the year, make and model of the car.

Q.) Front and/or rear spoilers of any type will not be permitted. Spoilers that are molded as a part of an OEM type application will be permitted.



15.7 – Suspension



A.) All suspension components must remain stock in their OEM mounting locations for the year make and model of the vehicle with the exception of racing shocks and/or springs that are mounted in stock locations.

B.) The steering shaft may be a collapsible shaft

C.) Aftermarket steering wheel and quick release are permitted.

D.) Steering quickening devices are permitted.

E.) After-marketing steering components will be permitted. After market steering components must be similar and/or replacement in type to the OEM application for the make and model of the vehicle.

F.) Only stock OEM-type bolt-in upper ball joints will be permitted. Adjustable and/or truck type ball joints will not be permitted. Cutting and/or alterations to the frame will not be permitted to accept any other type or style of ball joint.

G.) Only DIRTcar approved Tubular-type A-Frames, mounted in their stock OEM location will be permitted. The A-Frames may be reinforced along the edges by welding round stock. Cutting and/or changing lengths of the A-Frames will not be permitted.

H.) Only stock OEM and/or Ford 9”-type rear ends will be permitted for competition. Quick change rear ends will not be permitted.

I.) The lower rear trailing arms must remain in their stock OEM length, format and length, from the original OEM application and measurement system (English or Metric) and must remain specific to their particular chassis/frame and must be the same length on each side. The lower rear trailing arms must be mounted in the stock location. Additional holes in the frame and/or rear end will not be permitted.

J.) The upper rear trailing arms may be altered (shortened and/or lengthened) to obtain the correct pinion angle.

K.) Aftermarket bushings will be permitted, but the arm must not be altered in any manner. Slots and/or adjustable rod ends will not be permitted.

L.) Leaf-type springs will be permitted. Only stock OEM-type magnetic steel leaf spring(s) stack(s) will be permitted. Single leaf, mono-type-leaf and/or any type of slider and/or any composite leaf-type applications will not be permitted.

M.) Coil-over applications of any-type will not be permitted.

N.) Aftermarket coil springs will be permitted. The coil spring location may be altered, however, the centerline of the axle tube may not be any further forward than the front of the spring or not further back than the rear of the spring.

O.) Only magnetic steel body, non-adjustable shock absorbers will be permitted. The DIRTcar approved –A-type shock absorbers displaying the DIRTcar “Approved” decal will be permitted to compete.

P.) Weight jacks will be permitted.

Q.) Hydraulic ratchet and/or electric weight jacks are not permitted.

R.) Only stock-type OEM brakes will be permitted. Disc brake(s) will be permitted on the rear brake(s) provided that the rear brake caliper(s) match the front brake calipers. Alterations to the rear brake rotors, to fit the rotor to the rear only, will be permitted. All four corners must be in working condition prior to and following the completion of competition. After market brake pedals will be permitted. Brake bias adjusters and valves will not be permitted.

S.) Suspension components that are adjustable within driver compartment of any-type will not be permitted.



15.8 – Wheels and Tires



A.) A maximum 8” (inch) wide steel racing wheel will be permitted. Aluminum and/or magnesium and/or mag-type and/or homemade wheels will not be permitted. one (1) inch magnetic steel lugnuts will be permitted on all four corners of the vehicle.

B.) Only Hoosier E-Mod tires; compounds, D, H and/or A will be permitted. The DCM 400 will be permitted.

The local track rules may prevail on the specific tire and tire choice rule of the three offered Hoosier E-Mod compounds.

C.) Any type of alteration, chemical or mechanical, to the face and/or sidewall of the tire will not be permitted.

D.) A bead lock will be permitted on the right rear tire only.





15.9 – Personal Protection Equipment



15.9.1. General

A.) It is the sole responsibility of each competitor for the effectiveness and proper installation, per the manufacturer’s specifications to be adequate for competition at every event. Each competitor is expected to investigate and educate themselves for continuing improvement regarding their own personal safety equipment.



15.9.2 Seat Belt/Restraint System

A.) It is recommended that each car be equipped with an SFI 16.5 or SFI 16.1 approved seat belt restraint system until the date of the belt expiration (usually two years). Seat belts restraint systems shall be installed in accordance with the directions and application of the system supplier or manufacturer.

B.) Seat belt webbing that comes into contact with any sharp or un-radiused metal edge should be protected from that edge by means of push on grip vinyl trim. Seat manufacturers supply the seat with trim protecting the webbing from abrasion or cutting under impact conditions and should be used to their specifications.

C.) It is the responsibility of the driver, not the Officials or the Promoter to ensure that his/her seat belt restraint system and all components are SFI approved, correctly installed, maintained and properly used.



15.9.3 Protective Clothing

A.) Each driver should wear a fire resistant uniform meeting the SFI 3.2A/5 specification and display a valid SFI 3.2A/5 label.

B.) Each driver should also wear fire resistant accessories that effectively cover the remaining parts of the body. Shoes and gloves should meet the SFI 3.3 specification and display a valid SFI.3label.



15.9.4 Seats

A.) It is recommended that an aluminum seat built specifically for the purpose of competition in auto-racing events be required

B.) High-back Aluminum (stockcar style) seats should be securely mounted to the frame as recommended/required by seat manufacturer and chassis manufacturer.

C.) The seat must be mounted near the stock OEM location of the front seat for the year, make and model of the specific vehicle. Seats mounted past the rearward edge of the stock location on the driver’s side of the vehicle will not be permitted.

D.) Head rest (behind the head) should include padding. All areas surrounding the head should have padding

E.) A right head net or support is required. Head nets must be equipped with quick release mechanisms

F.) The seat must be mounted a minimum of 30” (inches) from the centerline of the rear end, measured at any point of the rear of the seat.

15.9.5 Helmets

A.) Driver should wear a full face helmet, with at least a valid SA 2000 or SA 2005 Standard Snell and/or a valid SFI 31.1, SFI 31.2 or SFI 31.1 2000 label.

B.) The driver should wear the helmet in accordance with the directions provided by the helmet manufacturer and/or supplier.

C.) If a head and neck restraint system is connected it should conform to the manufactures mounting instructions.

D.) Head and Neck restraints are strongly recommended.



15.9.6 Other

A.) No sharp or protruding edges in or around the driver compartment, which would impede the driver’s rapid exit from the car.

B.) Windshield screens with a minimum of .090 inch screens must be securely fastened

C.) An electrical engine shut off switch is required. The switch must be clearly labeled and within the reach of the driver.

D.) A fuel shut off valve is recommended and should be utilized. The valve should be clearly labeled and within reach of the driver. The fuel line must not enter the driver compartment.

E.) Flame retardant seat, roll bar, knee and steering pads or padding are recommended



15.10 – Roll Cage

A.) A minimum 4-point competition roll cage is required. The roll cage must be constructed of magnetic steel tubing that is a minimum of 1 ½” in diameter, with a minimum tubing thickness of .095 (wall thickness). The roll cage must be located within the stock OEM parameters of the doors of the vehicle. Roll cages that are moved toward the rear of the car and/or offset will not be permitted.

B.) A minimum of three (3) horizontal door bars are required on each door.

C.) A minimum of three (3) driver protection bars are required in the windshield.

D.) Front and rear bars that pass through the firewall will be permitted, with one (1) kicker bar to the frame.

E.) A radiator protection bar will be permitted.

F.) There must be a minimum of 40”-inches between the outside edge of the front and rear down bars at the top of the door panel. A maximum of 41”-inches (48”-inches on 1988-1996 GM-type bodies) from the top center of the windshield to the front edge of the rear hoop and a maximum of 13”-inches (20”-inches) for 1988-1996 GM-type bodies) to the front edge of the top halo. The

G.) The top halo must be a minimum of 40”-inches across outside-to-outside.

H.) The rear hoop must be a maximum of 12”-inches in from the bottom of the opera window.

F.) The rear vertical roll bar hoop must be mounted on the rear body mount in the center section of the frame a maximum of 81”-inches rearward of the centerline of the right front wheel/spindle. Rear vertical roll bar hoops mounted on the rear frame rails (rearward of the rear body mounts) will not be permitted. The rear vertical roll bar hoop of the roll cage should be perpendicular to the frame and must not exceed a ten (10) degree variation from perpendicular in its vertical rise from the frame.



15.11 – Other

A.) Any battery that is mounted inside the driver’s compartment must be completely enclosed in a marine-type box, with a lid and mounted securely.
