Summit Racing Equipment Returns as Official Sponsor for the American Modified Series in 2014

Glasgow, KY- January 4, 2014- Representatives with Summit Racing Equipment Inc are pleased to announce they will be returning as the official series title sponsor for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series in 2014 after a successful partnership with the tour during the 2013 racing season.


AMS Series officials are excited that Summit Racing Equipment will return in 2014 as the official series title sponsor. “We are extremely thrilled and humbled to have the fine folks at Summit Racing Equipment back on board with us again in 2014”, stated series race director Shane Mugavin. “The involvement of Summit Racing Equipment with the AMS (American Modified Series) tour has allowed us to present the best in UMP DIRTcar Modified action in the area at some of the best racing venues in our part of the country. The 2014 season is going to be awesome and we cannot wait to get started and cannot thank Summit Racing Equipment enough for their involvement with our series”, added Mugavin. When the dust settles in October at Florence Speedway for the season championship, the series races will pay out over $200,000 in nightly track purses and Championship points standings.


The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series is also pleased to announce it will continue its working relationship with the UMP DIRTcar Modified organization, as the UMP DIRTcar organization will have its officials at all events to handle technical inspection of the race cars. Drivers can also earn points toward the UMP DIRTcar Modified national title, along with earning points toward the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series championship title as well.


Series officials would like to also announce the 2014 series points fund for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series. The series points champion will take home $3,500 for their efforts at the conclusion of the 2014 season, with the total series points fund in excess of $15,000. The top ten in 2014 series will receive the following payout: 1st- $3,500, 2nd- $2,500, 3rd- $2,000, 4th- $1,500, 5th- $1,250, 6th- $1,000, 7th- $900, 8th- $850, 9th- $800, 10th- $750. For a driver to earn his/her full payout for their finishing position in final 2014 series points, the driver must be a member in good standing with the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series and must have attended at least 70% of the series points events.


One other minor series rules change with deal with the number of events that can be considered as throw-out events toward the final series points standings. For 2014, the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will be using a formula that will consist of the total number of series event ran multiplied by 80% and that will equal the amount of throw-outs for the 2014 race series season.


The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will present UMP DIRTcar Modified sanctioned dirt track entertainment at racing venues throughout Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee.
