Inside Line Promotions - GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (Nov. 5, 2018) - Consistency is what Sammy Swindell will remember most about the 2018 season.
Swindell enjoyed one of his most consistent campaigns, winning eight races and recording 22 podiums, including a streak of 15 straight during 360ci winged sprint car competition this summer.
"It shows how strong we were this year," he said. "We had a lot of good finishes and wins in A.G. Rains' car."
Seven of Swindell's wins came in 360 competition with five Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com victories, including a trio during Speedweek en route to Swindell winning his first career Speedweek championship.
The final two wins came Sept. 1-2 when Swindell swept the 9th annual LOS 360 Sprint Car Nationals at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo.
"We dominated that pretty easy," he said. "We ran so well and were able to put a lot of cars a lap down. Things evolved throughout the year. We learned and you have more success when you learn from things you're doing right or going in the right direction. It gives you more confidence and more leeway to try things. We were able to go through the whole year and make all these updates and get better."
Swindell also won an Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions race while driving for Thone Motorsports.
"We had some good runs," he said. "We had a lot of good runs that didn't turn into good finishes, too, but we had a competitive car most every race."
The eight triumphs extended Swindell's winning streak to 48 consecutive seasons. He has earned at least one trip to Victory Lane every year dating back to 1971, which was his rookie season.

Swindell has a pair of midget events this offseason beginning Nov. 29-Dec. 1 at The Dome at America's Center in St. Louis, Mo., for the 3rd annual VP Racing Fuels Gateway Dirt Nationals.
