TCS Equipment Woes.....

The Original Q
Sure hate to beat a dead horse but I've just gotta talk about this one. Bob needs to do something about the lighting and P.A. system up there! Not sure what happened to the P.A. last night but even when it was working is wasn't that great. The sound was muffled and the modulation was up and down all night. When they where playing music during down time and intermission you could barely hear yourself think and could hardly understand what song you where listening to. And even though they brought in additional lighting for the turns it was still far from adequate if you asked me. I'm not sure how much money the facility brings in on one of these shows but I'm sure there's gotta be a little left over for some sort of improvements. I truely think that with some well overdue changes to the track TCS would be one of the premier stops on all of the big travelling series schedule. It's obvious that the track can facilitate great racing after last night, it just needs the little things that make a good track great!

Well i know this may be off subject, but our 1 mile dirt track here in DuQuoin was always a great track, but the ARCA series wanted us to put in a concrete wall all the way around, so we did, then we added an awesome lighting system, and now within the next week or two we are adding a paved pit road and ARCA is going to start running 2 shows a year, and think we are supposed to start having alot more racing throughout the year! I personally would love to see the WoO or XDCS guys come out here! It is a one mile, but when they used to run the Have-A_tampa series there was always great racing!

I'm hoping to be there for the DuQuion shows over Labor Day weekend. I've got a friend that I work with who is a firefighter for Pickneyville and says that they provide rescue services for the track. Says he's gonna get me in so I can help with EMS since I'm a paramedic. Should be cool standing on the infield in turn 1. Can't wait to see the facilty and the speed of those cars on dirt. DuQuoin's success with making sound decisions to improve the facility should be a good testament for any track to make improvements!

Yes that is for sure! They have spent alot of money on that track, but look at all the profit it is showing now, they have had to add more seat over the last few years! If you listen to some of the big name guys like Stewart and Schrader, and the Wallaces sometimes, you will here them talk about how much they love DuQuoin! Schrader has always been a big supporter of our track, and it has became one of the favorite places to race for alot of ppl! I just love to watch the full bodied stock cars fly around the magic mile!
