Terry Neal, Hank Delonjay, Terry Houston and Eddie Dieker all took feature event wins at Quincy Raceways on Sunday, July 3 during the Red Cactus Salsa Late Model Shootout extravaganza.

Brian Kenning took the lead of the Budweiser IMCA Late Model 50 lap feature event at the drop of the green flag and looked like he may just be on his way to his biggest payday of his young late model career. Mike Karhoff trailed in second followed by Terry Neal in third and Matt Strassheim in fourth over the first 9 laps until Karhoff spun between turns three and four to bring out the caution. On the ensuing restart, Kenning held off Neal who seemed to be biding his time as the track became black and very slick. Kenning, Neal and Strassheim held onto their top three spot over the next few caution filled laps as the field had multiple problems dealing with the slick track conditions. Neal made his move to the front on a twenty eigth lap restart by blasting past Kenning to take the lead with Kenning holding onto second over Strassheim in third and Jamie Wilson in fourth. The running order stayed the same until disaster struck for Kenning and Strassheim on the thirty sixth lap. Kenning lost control and spun between corner three and four with Strassheim following suit, both drivers were sent to the rear for stopping on the track and bringing out the caution flag. Neal led Jamie Wilson, Darrel Defrance, Mark Burgtorf and Kevin Tomlinson to the green flag restart and held on until the checkered flag fell at lap fifty. Neal claimed the $2000 winners share over Wilson in second, Defrance in third, Burgtorf in fourth and Tomlinson in fifth. The heat race winners were Mark Burgtorf, Tom Darbyshire, Matt Strassheim and Sam Halstead. The Summy Tire and Auto Center Fast Eight Dash win went to “Iron Man” Darrel Defrance with Terry Schlipman taking the win in the consolation feature.

The Miller A-Modifieds were racing for a $1000 winners share in a special event featuring a choice of tires as both Hoosier or American Racer rubber were legal for the nights events. Dave Weitholder grabbed the lead away from Ted Allen on the second lap and set sail in the lead until the twelved lap when Henry Delonjay took over. Delonjay then pulled to a comfortable margin and took home the winners check. Weitholder held on for second with Mike Chasteen in third, Ted Allen in fourth and Michael Long in fifth. Chasteen, Delonjay and Mark Burgtorf were the heat race winners with Long grabbing the hardware in the P&S Auto and Truck Collision Repair Trophy Dash.

Terry Houston made a shambles of the B-Modified feature event as he lead a fifteen laps in the caution free event. Robbie Reed scored the second spot with Jeff Waterman in third, Wyatt Lance in fourth and Joe Blivens in fifth. Lance and Reed were the heat race winners.

Eddie Dieker took six laps to get to the top spot from his fifth row starting spot in the Bomber main event and held Adam Birck at bay to take his third feature win of the season. Bruce scored the third spot with followed by Steve Carlin in fourth and Travis Booher in fifth. Dieker, Birck and Carlin were the heat race winners.
