Robbie Blair made a name for himself in northwestern PA and he showed why as he lead the final 36 laps of the O’Reilly All Star Late Model Series sanctioned ‘Cranberry Pennzoil 40’ at Tri-City Speedway in Franklin, PA. Blair took the lead from series points leader Boom Briggs on the fourth circuit and cruised to his first career ASLMS win.

Ron Davies and Boom Briggs led the 24-car field to the green flag with Briggs jumping out to the early lead. An absolutely fantastic start for the seventh starting Blair as he worked his way to the bumper of the race leader Briggs by the third lap and pulled along side the ASLMS point leader to take the lead on lap four before Max Blair spun in turn two to bring out the first of two cautions.

When racing resumed, Blair and his Specialty Products, Bossards Auto, MWB Decals 25th Anniversary Rocket Chassis continued to lead as ninth place starting David Scott, subbing for the injured Bill Henry, raced his way up to the top-five and was challenging Boom for the second spot by lap ten. The ‘Slow Ride’, Scott, Briggs, and Ron Davies battled for the second spot. Davies took claim of the second position while Boom and Scott continued to battle for third. Blair started to pull away from Davies as the second caution was thrown on lap 16 for Rod Conley’s spinning mount after making contact with Dutch Davies on the front stretch.

It was again Blair leading the field to the green as Scott made his move on Davies to take the second position. Davies didn’t let Scott get away as Ron made his way back around Scott on lap 24. A few circuits later it was World of Outlaws Late Model Series regular, Chub Frank joining the party as he now battled with Davies and Scott. Both Frank and Scott were able to get by Davies as Ron began to fade.

With ten laps remaining, Blair still held the point while Briggs and Dave Hess Jr., we now pressuring Davies for the fourth spot. Both Boom and Hess Jr., were able to get by Davies as Blair took the checkered flag for his first ever O’Reilly All Star Late Model Series win followed by Scott in second, Frank, Briggs, and Hess in fifth. Franklin, PA’s Matt Lux came home sixth as Ron Davies faded to seventh with Mike Knight, Jared Miley, and Rod Conley rounding out the top 10.
